The defending "Champions" taken out by probably the weakest team in the playoffs - thing of beauty.

So weak they battled to game 7? Come on... how are they any "weaker" than Ottawa or Florida.

Now all the ridiculous folks come out.

seeing all these top teams getting eliminated just makes the canucks' loss worse...if we had beat the kings we could have beaten any of the teams now remaining for sure

Well if we barely managed to sqeak by the Kings, how the hell were we gonna beat Nashville or St.Louis?

They just didn't have it in them this year, period.

On the flip side though, with all the powerhouses gone home early if Canucks had advanced....

Nah, there's no point. I have to stop thinking "What if..." 'cause it only makes me hurt more.

Thought Boston would take this one. Caps have been mediocre all year. But Boston has been weak since their game against us. (Conversely, so have the Canucks. It's like one game killed two teams. Strange.)

Glad their out. F 'em. Cheers.

Anything can happen in OT, especially in Game 7! I'd very much welcome it and hope someone like Hendricks sticks the dagger in the Bruins heart. Or Joel Ward.

Oh man you were spot on.

Have always liked them, but this year I think I became a lot more invested in them than the Canucks after game 3....

I was actully screaming at the Caps and got nervous in OT

For sure? Another arrogant fan. Were you the same one who a month ago said how Canucks could beat ANYONE for sure? And that Kings were a walk in the park? Yeah makes a lot of sense that if they can't generate offense against Quick they will definitely generate it against Smith, Elliot, and Rinne.

You are one bright shining star, for sure.

maybe. but personally I think St Louis is overrated. Do not think Elliot can take them very far and when it comes to Nashville their offence is nothing compared to LA's. Obviously Rinne would be tough to be up against though

This of course implies that all of the favoured teams being dumped in the first round is coincidence.

No. I knew LA would be a struggle for us. Personally I think LA will go farther than NSH and St Louis. We'll see.

That could be said about a lot of teams though.
Chicago lost 3 OT games. A bounce their way in a game or two and it would have been a different series. Same goes for this series. Each game decided by one goal.

I think the teams that bought into their respective systems the best rightfully moved on.

Caps didn't have Backstrom and Green for most of the season, plus Holtby just came out of nowhere just in time for the playoffs.

amazing series. every game a one goal game. caps might have been mediocre during the year, but they definitely found another gear in the playoffs. bruins played a good series too, holtby just stoned them.

derp

been out all along Buck - and called the Caps in 7 - but still not ridiculous to suggest they are neck and neck with Florida for the biggest long shots at winning the Cup, particularly without their two goaltenders, relying on a rookie, and having stars that are not exactly considered playoff performers.

Whatever.

So... this is what the Bruins fans are doing on Twitter now. Most definitely the classiest fans in the NHL. I'd rather have a city with rioters than a city of racists.

I like how the east was nothing but entertainment and amazing story lines.

The west was nothing but the return of the dead puck era, hard to feel bad about losing with Detroit and Chicago being in pretty much the same boat as us.

To go on further, good luck Nashvilee when all 3 of these teams plays you next year.
