Wow if that Happened we would not be the Team we are today, without Lu we would have been starting to become a contending Team now, We would have Re-Built our Organization.

Luckily we were Able to Get Lu and turn our Team in the Right Direction.

Thornton and Jokinen together might have been something to marvel at. Jokinen was an 89-point player in 2005-06, and scored 91 points in 2006-07. Thornton, meanwhile, had 125 points in 81 games in 2005-06, including 92 points in 58 games with the Sharks. In 2006-07, he scored 114.

Those two might have carried their team into the playoffs, depending on whether they could find a stable goaltender to replace Roberto.

This goes back to some points that i have made and what others have made. Going back a few years, imagine if Luongo was not here...people would be crying about how we should've gotten Luongo and how we need to fix our goaltending situation.

People should be happy we have Luongo.

This is off the top of my head w/o fact checking but Bure was drafted the year after the Gretzky deal. Surely any deal for Gretz in 88 would have included the newly drafted Trevor Linden. Maybe the poster you responded to thinks we could have got Gretzky for Frank Caprice and Petri Skriko.
