The Sedins are not getting split up. They're way better together than they are apart. And they've had some pretty good success against the Kings in the past couple of seasons.

Lets just hope that now that Hank is rolling, it will spark Daniel to be better. Kind of like when Danny went down a couple seasons ago and Hank ripped it up, and then he came back and both of them went on a tear.

This is what i'm hoping will solve our power play woes.

Really we won many games up to game 7 SCF with what you call a soft top 6 ... i.e. the sedins were missing as was Kesler mainly through injuries Burrows also.Couldn't get a softer top 6 than that I don't think.

Ever since last years final..teams like LA and other goony teams play us pretty dirty!

Edler-Bieksa worries me just slightly defensively. I'd rather see a defense like:

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Edler-Tanev
Rome-Salo

But hey, if the coaching staff thinks this'll work, I'm behind it.

Is that any worse, defensively speaking, than Edler-Ehrhoff?

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

Yea, I see Edler-Bieksa pretty much being on par with Edler-Ehrhoff. Now we have a legitmate stay-at-home shutdown top pairing with Hamhuis-Tanev though.

And if we can get Ballard-Salo together on the bottom pairing, that's a pretty strong 1-6 core.

I'm really happy with Tanev-Hamhuis line. Bieksa-Edler line will be pretty good too.

I'm just more concerned about our 2nd line. Should Lappy stay on it and we bench mayray? So many possibilities...

Some people are confusing the role of the Edler-Bieksa pairing. It's an all-out, push-offence pairing that will likely see Ozone start rates that are through the roof. The other two pairings will get the hard minutes.

the top 2 lines might even out, but i think nux 3rd and 4th lines are deeper.
they may be the key in this series

It's obviously a high risk/reward pairing. They're likely going to cause some odd man rushes by being too agressive, but they'll also create alot of offensive chances. Put them with the Sedins and Burrows, and we'll likely have the puck quite a bit anyways. As long as we don't give up od man rushes against their top lines, we should be good.

And I agree, Tanev and Hamhuis will likely get most of the hard minutes against Richards and Kopitar. This pairing should be good because they don't try and do to much with the puck. They make the smart patient move and get the puck up and out. That's what we want against their top players.

Ballard, PLEASE hurry up and come back to the line-up. You can't go wrong with having one of the best skaters in the NHL, instead of a guy like Aaron Rome.

However, it is nice to see Tanev get the promotion... this is huge for his development and I am very excited for him! He's been playing great thus far.

I look forward to Ballard's return, he can help out on the back end for us if he can mangage some of the chances he takes. However, I don't automatically want ROme out of the line up. We need his size and strength especially in the playoffs to clear the net and keep the opposition looking over their shoulder. I like to have either Rome or Alberts in the lineup most nights as a physical deterrent in the playoffs. I think it depends on the physical matchups and what kind of team the opposition is dressing. I think we need him against the more physical teams like Boston.

I think he is top 4 PK'ers on our team. If he was a faceoff guy like Malhotra he would be top 2 Pk'ers, IMO. He forces the other teams D to be hesitant on the blue line because all it takes is a bounce at the blue line and Raymond is gone for a breakaway. I really think that makes a difference, along with him getting to loose pucks quickly.

Edlers going to up his physical game in the playoffs like he always does and I'm sure Bieksa will too, so that will be a very physical pair thats good offensively, and we have Hamhuis and Tanev as the shut down pair, so it should work alright hopefully.

This.

Hamhuis - Bieksa isn't a good shutdown pair because Bieksa is more of an offensive D man.

Hamhuis - Tanev is going to be great. The both play a defensively minded game and are just so fricken solid.

I look to get most of our points from the Edler - Bieksa pairing, but hopefully they aren't a train wreck in our zone.

Shanahan went soft on Keith.

No Kassian? I think I would put in Kassian in for Bitz.

Bitz has been playing well but I wanna see this Canadian kid play in his first playoff game!

I've seen this before. Such a dumb statement. Sometimes he's better than these guys. Is there a top PK'er stat I don't know about?
