Why would Ron MacLean mention that Vancouver passed a law that doesn't allow people to play bag pipes in the city? He made a rude comment stating that "they actually passed a law there for that..."

First of all, "They" represents that we are not his choice. He has said, "our leafs," in previous broadcasts however.

He tried apologizing in a broadcast and it came out as honest as the kid whose parents found his weed, and he swears its not his.

Don Cherry called him on it in the same broadcast.

So the question is, does Ron MacLean really have a thing against Vancouver? And if he does, is that how all Torontoites think of us?

interesting.

Something about noise levels. It's been reversed.

They're trying to get away from the noise

Nice......

I heard Toronto would be getting a NHL team soon.
Maclean is wrong.... Gregor Robinson stepped up and has blocked the ruling.

Ron MacLean. The spineless, effeminate, pencil-neck weasel who somehow got a prestigious job in hockey broadcasting. In Canada, no less. How can CBC plan to keep it's balls intact when they have pushovers like this guy representing our nation's pride - hockey?

Police should arrest Maclean if he shows up in Vancouver, just to enforce the law.

Bagpipes are not illegal to play, that law was shot down almost instantly. Ron, for saying it was true, comes off as a bitter old man.

What an insult! I just sent an email to my local MP, telling them to cut all funding for the CBC. This is a severe injustice that cannot stand.

Bag pipes are legal in Vancouver.

More untruths coming out of Ron's mouth, why should we be surprised, people? It's pretty difficult to brush off yet another dig at Vancouver and/or it's team when he insists on opening his mouth and shoving his foot in at every opportunity. I used to really like Ron but now he's just modeling his idiocy outside instead of keeping it inside where it belongs.

Weird that he would comment about bagpipes when he sits next to a blowhard every night

Ron Maclean hates Vancouver because when he was a kid, he lost a girlfriend to the cool kid from Vancouver, then said kid kicked his sandcastle over and made him eat leaves...true story

interesting.

Just because you're just another in a long line of insecure BC residents who constantly looks to the east to see if the east is looking out west, doesn't mean that every single person from Toronto thinks negatively of Vancouver.

Why are people on this forum always trying to create a divide like this?

If people want to be down on Vancouver, they should talk about the unfriendly people, the lack of a distinct culture, the Canucks' fickle yet arrogant fan base. Bagpipes would be far, far down the list

Change the Channel when Ron Maclean comes on, if I want to listen to anti-canuck get togethers, I'll move to any other city in North America.

News flash: normally when someone mentions that a city banned bagpipes, it's not considered an insult. Yeah, he got his facts a little mixed up. Who cares what him or anyone in the east thinks of us. Some of you can be such drama queens. It's not like he came out and said "I hate Vancouver". He just mentioned a law that was being passed and expressed surprise, because it's a bit of a strange law. The only "jab at Vancouver" here exists in your head.
