We saw the best LA could be
We didn't see the best Vancouver could be
Stay out of the box.

As much as I hate to say it, letting Erhoff go was one of MG's biggest mistakes.

Two five on three's for stupid things...pucks going into the stands....twice in a row from our zone...dumb luck really.
You take away those two power play goals, which were in no way Lu's fault and you have the kings scoreless untill the final 3minutes and 15 seconds of the game. By then our fire power would have destroyed them.
Not worried at all, last night was opening night jitters.
Final thought: Bitz. No offense to him, but he missed all but 10 games this year with injuries. He never played for us before. He is not a star player...what the aytch eee double hockey sticks is he doing on the team in the playoffs? I am not second guessing anyone, I wondered this before the game as well.
If there are any changes to be made, lets get someone other than Bitz up there. He is not a star, he has no lengthy experience in the league, his last and only playoff experience was 5 playoff games in Boston in 2008-09. It is not that I doubt his skill, I think he had a rough bunch of bad luck in the big leagues but now he is 27, with limited NHL experience and only 10 games as a canuck. Not to mention the obvious: he put us short for 5 minutes last night with only 2 shifts in the first period and two in the second before disaster struck. Sign him again, play him next year...but don't use him in these playoffs for one more second. Thanks.

Stay out of the box, especially 5 on 3's and Vancouver wins this game hands down. We handed that one to them.

There were too many passengers last night. We need offense from the second line, and we need Kesler to focus on playing hockey instead of drawing penalties. Booth was invisible after his big hit. Raymond was Raymond. After all the talk of the third line being our best line they were completely ineffective, most disappointing on that line was Higgins who has been so good lately.
The PP continues to be useless. It's been this way for months now with no improvement. That's on the coaches. The coaching staff has been slow to make adjustments in series' in the past, now they need to find a way to get the PP going ASAP.
If not for Luongo we lose that game 6-2.

It's a matter of simple math - opposing team gets more shots = more chances to win.
A frustrating game to watch when you see a Kings team that is supposed to be 2nd to last in scoring getting more chances to score than the Canucks.
Bonehead plays - two pucks over the glass, pass up the middle by Edler, poorly timed hit by Bitz and next thing you know Kings have two 5 on 3s and a 5 minute major. You can do that in a regular season game, but not in a playoff game where you have win now not later.
Enough passing on the powerplay. Just get a couple guys in front of the net and shoot from the point and hope for a deflection. The pretty passes are nice, but generally it's not how they score on the PP. IF they had scored on the PP with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd, the game would have been over, but instead no PP goal and the Kings score on a bad Edler pass up the middle.
Mentally they have to get in the game - give more energy but play smarter. They should be able to score more goals than the Kings, so why are they chasing the Kings all over the ice?
Good to see Luongo play well, disappointed he didn't get much support.
Scoring doesn't need to come in volume, but a goal or two from the 1st or 2nd line and the game is over.

We had a horrible game last night. We had soo many penalties, many of them stupid. I don't know if we can say that is the best LA has to offer and our worst but it showed we are going to have to play harder and adjust our tactics. Series is very achievable, I think we win on Friday.

If Canucks wants to win the cup they need to face/overcame adversity. They won't steamroll anyone this year. Every win, will be tough.

Great game tonight. Kesler, Edler, and Hansen looked great. The whole team played great. We did'nt win, but on to Game 2.
