Classless. Just like when Bertuzzi told Wild fans not to bother with buying tickets for their next home games.

We all know what happened in that series.

Way back in the 90's the canucks went 2 games to nothing on the kings when Ronning scored a gamewinner.

Ronning rode on his stick in celebration.

The pissed off Kings destroyed the Nucks after and rode it all the way to the final

The only thing I don't like about this is that Canuck fans are just supposed to brush it off when we all know what the media and fan fallout would be if the Canucks did this.

I was saying Lu-Urns...

OP if that is an attack I would love to see what you call that thing going on over there in the Middle East.

Although the people/person with the Kings ORG will be held responsible, it is just gamesmanship.

"Just cause I am from Cali does not mean I am not a Canuck. We are all Canucks!"

Although it's obviously just a dig at the Canucks, I don't think the whole "Canadians only cheer for their team is really true".. As a nucks fan, I'm still looking forward to cheering on the Sens tonight, and wish them the best of luck through the whole playoffs.

Similarly, I'd rather lose to a Canadian team in the finals than any American team.

So screw you LA.

Thanks to that, they just woke up the whole team!

If a harmless joke tweet is what it takes this team to "wake up" in the SCFs, they are in HUGE trouble.

I feel totally indifferent to the tweet today. Not that I was really bothered by it last night either, but it's only natural that it's going to ruffle some feathers RIGHT after the team lost and everyone's in a stinky mood. That's why I tweeted back last night they should win a playoff series before gloating (seeing as how they haven't won a series since, what? 2001?). After a good night's sleep and a day at work to forget about the game, though, I actually found the initial tweet humorous.

Looking forward to Game 2. Hoping the good guys even this thing up.

As retweeted by JamiesonCanucks ...Kings GM Dean Lombardi, addng to previously issued statement regarding @LAKings tweet last night: "In no way did this reflect the opinion of the players, coaches, or staff of the LA Kings toward an organization and fan base we respect."

AV on Kings tweet: "I don't care about the twitter world. I care about the Stanley Cup Playoffs."

The Los Angeles Kings say they're sorry.

One day after opening a series against Vancouver with a 4-2 win, the NHL team found itself backtracking from a playful jab made on Twitter. In the wake of the victory, the team's official account posted a message saying: "To everyone in Canada outside of BC, you're welcome."

That didn't sit well with senior members of the organization, especially after all of the attention it generated.
"We encourage our digital team to be creative, interactive and to apply a sense of humour whenever possible," said Mike Altieri, the Kings vice-president of communications and broadcasting. "To anyone who found it offensive we sincerely apologize."

The Canucks have drawn criticism during a successful couple seasons that has seen them capture the Presidents' Trophy in back-to-back years and fall one game short of the Stanley Cup in 2011.

In October, CBC commentator Don Cherry added to the chorus by saying Vancouver was disliked because the players whine at officials.

The team is considered a strong Stanley Cup contender yet again and entered the series with Los Angeles as a heavy favourite.

Game 2 goes Friday night at Rogers Arena.

It's almost a little embarrassing that the Kings had to apologize for this whole thing but at least the article above indicates the apology was likely in response to objections by Canucks brass and not necessarily the fans and the city. Our rep, for whatever reason, is bad enough as it is.

The sad part is the Canucks demonstrated exactly what they have been criticized for...both Kesler and Henrik performed absolutely ridiculous swan dives. I was embarrassed to be a Canucks fan.

lol that's kind of funny.

Maybe BC should separate from Canada? Quebec style!

we should take Alberta also (rumor is they have lots of money) but we can give the Oilers and Flames to Saskatoon and Regina.
New Canada FTW!

Here is an interesting comment

I think the poll is misleading. Fans across Canada may hate the Leafs not because they are the Leafs but because they are in Toronto. As a Torontonian living in western Canada for 25 years I have stopped telling new aquaintenences that I am from Toronto because it usually results in negative responses from them to even violent encounters. I have had to beat up a lot of Albertans because of their attitude towards Toronto. Fortunately for me that I have never lost a fight to a western Canadian who fit the pansy role quite well. Toughness in Canada decreases as you go west. I refuse to watch the Oilers or the Flames unless they are playing the Leafs and always celebrate when they miss the playoffs. I usually cheer for American teams to beat the Canucks but I will watch them play.

Oh, those Torontonians! Always beating up us sissy Westerners.

Thanks for the article... I'm surprised Cherry was rated at even 47% in BC. Also surprised that ANYONE hates the Jets.

Was anyone else disappointed that the Canucks attempted to play big bruising hockey (something that isn't known as Canucks hockey) last night? I feel that was a poor effort to show the opposing team that the Canucks will not tolerate being walked all over.

Only problem i have is the Canucks brand of hockey (skill plus chirping) is what led them to the SCF last year. They should stick to it and respond with physicality as needed. Last night most of the plays (hits to the head, roughing) was unnecessary and was our downfall.

I completely agree. It seems as if the Canucks have an identity problem. All the media attention of the Canucks being soft and not standing up for eachother has gotten to their head, and I don't blame them for it.

It seems as If they were more worried about showing they are not a soft team then just playing their style of play that they are accustomed to and do so well. With the additions of kassian and bitz the canucks players seem more willing to get involved with other players. I don't think the canucks have the all around toughness to beat tough teams with their physical play. They need to get back to playing a hard hitting, finishing all your checks, quick crisp passing and speed game the know how to do so well.

Being a tough team to play against is not being a team full of players that can fight, but it is a team of players that punish you with their clean hard hits every time you have the puck, and then make you pay when they have the puck. I loved Hansens play in game 1, except for the defensive slip on the kings goal of course.
