TimberWolf
I am a fan of Weber, but they should have tossed him for at least 1 game. This is not wrestling where you bounce someones head off a turnbuckle. The fine is what it is, but no game suspension is showing the league for a joke. That said, Bitz deserves at least
TOMapleLaughs
Zetterberg wears a visor. What are we even talking about here? How 'bout, he was playing it up to see if Weber would be suspended? Cheers. TOML
Bang Bang Boogie
Shanahan must be a big WWE fan.
etsen3
He should have been suspended for sure. I like Weber as a player but there's no excuse for that play. Maybe Holmstrom sold it a bit, but Weber shouldn't have been pulling WWE moves in the first place.
Two Blind Mice
Ahh, the hypocracy that is the NHL. Shanahan has gone from sheriff to puppet. So much for cracking down on head shots. Imagine if it was Bitz or Rome who intentionally smashed an opponent's head into the glass. Would they have gotten off with a slap on the wrist? Not a chance. So frustrating. Ralph.
You know what? I'm from Sicamous and I love Shea, and even I think this deserved a suspension. What a joke.

qwijibo
The right call. This was worse than most after the whistle goalmouth crap, but not by much. If you suspend Weber for this then ou have to suspend everyone who throws a punch at someones head in your typical scrum. It was deserving of a roughing pentaly. The fine is just to send the message that the league does not approve. People saying he deserves to be suspended for mulitple games are just out to lunch

Shift-4
Capgeek's twitter calculated something interesting. $2,500 for someone making $7,500,000 per year, is relative to $16 for someone making $50,000 per year. Fines are really peanuts to the league's stars.

Kwyjibo on the Loose
Weber wasn't suspended because he's about to win(or at least be nominated for) the Norris and the league doesn't want its awards nominees/recipients tarnished with black marks during the season/playoffs. Now, what is Shanahan to do if every game has a head slam? The league has neutered him to the point where anything more than a fine as tiny as Bettman will be hypocritical....I miss Sheriff Shanny
