I Thought The Hodgson Trade Was Suppose To Make Us Better For The Playoffs

Yes. Hodgson is the better player. The Sabres won the trade. We would be better off right now with Hodgson in the lineup. But what do you expect MG to do when a guy wants out? Just keep him here against his will? Let him become a distraction and a cancer in the dressing room? He had to be moved.

Hodgson is a difference maker. He was against Boston. He was against Detroit. He would have been against the Kings where our top 2 lines are struggling. We lose a top-6 forward in Daniel and have no one to replace him with now.

Meanwhile Kassian is getting 10 minutes a game, not really hitting or injuring anyone and isn't getting a scent of special teams time.

Our PP is now the worst in the league since the Boston game.

Hodgson would have had a huge impact in all these areas. Plus, I prefer Sulzer over Gragnani in the playoffs due to his experience, size and defensive play

"You just noticed the powerplay outage a month ago? The powerplay went 7-for-55 (12.7%) from January 8th, 2012 until February 27th, 2012, a 21-game span during which time your hero CoHo was still here!

The powerplay after CoHo left went 5-for-22 (22.7%) in the nines games following the trade deadline until Daniel Sedin was injured. The powerplay finished the season 4-for-42 (9.5%) in the last ten games after Daniel went down. Combine the two and you get 9-for-64 (14.1%) which is slightly better than the 21-games following the Boston game when we still had Hodgson, believe it or not."

kassian barely plays any minutes. he needs time and experience. hes still very very raw with tons of upside.

last nights game he only played 6 minutes. u cant comment against anything about that. if he played 10-12 mins then its different.

????

People keep referring to how out PP would be better if hodgson was here when clearly it would not have made a difference.

It not the first time I've seen those stats showing the nucks poor performance while Hodgson was here either.

Hodgson played second unit PP.

I have seen no second unit PP time stats-it is all bunched in as PP stats.

I beg to differ with your analysis, the Hodgson trade was the turning point of this season.

Let's hope the coaching staff do not have to take the fall for what was MG's decision.

It is and it's bad enough to hang a loss on one player. Edler for example was a big goat in both games but he was far from alone.

It's worse to blame the loss on a trade and even more so with someone who as the stats show was not a difference maker in a positive way.

Some people want to believe that when the Sedins or Kesler are not playing well or Daniel being injured (hindsight) that Hodgson would step in and fill their boots and only have a positive impact and not a negative one. Which again goes against the stats as you can see by his increased minutes and this exposure in buffalo.

20 games he scored 8 points and was a -7 for 82 game totals of ~32 points and ~ - 28.

Never mind in Kassians limited ice time in the playoffs (~5:30/game) he's leveled Greene with a massive hit plus a fee other hits and was responsible for Pahlssons goal which was one of only 4 goals scored so far by the nucks.

Gillis screwed up

Kassian maybe good in the future but right now he is not making an impact and he is being rushed and ruining his development. He should be sent down but management egos dont want to be hurt and accept they made a mistake in rushing to trade hodgson.
