Yeria
So if Schneiderman wins tonight, does he start game 5?

RUPERTKBD
Oh and Cory still lost the last game. Luongo was playing better from what I saw. This just sets Schneider up for failure and makes luongo look bad. Stupid move and not going to make a difference since the problems is what's in front of our goalies. Special Ed
this is how I feel about it. Luongo wasn't playing badly. Now, if we get eliminated and our #1 is on the bench that sets up a disastrous scenario. If we win we ride Schneider, you can't possibly pull him after that. Luongo's got to be pissed. (and for everyone ushering in a new era if we do stick with schneider and move luongo, how long you think until this city then turns on schneider like it did lu? one season? two? bah). EDIT: or I'm reading into everything too much. We looked good in game 3 so AV doesn't want to change much from that. plain and simple no other thoughts behind it. inder19
Luongo should be starting. If you're going to make a goalie your starter in game 1, you ride him out the entire series. No excuses.
suolucidir
Why is it that every time Schneider plays, the defense is better? Maybe Schneider is making the defense look better. If not, then we should play Schneider should we not? Since the team plays "better" in front?
hockeyville88
I'm assuming that internally the Canucks are doing all they can to keep the peace and not offend either goalie But this decision has to have a major impact on the future goaltending situation of the Canucks. To not start the face of the franchise and the team's former Captain in a possible elimination game is a huge slap in the face for Lu IMO, especially when he was our best player through games 1 and 2 Could have major implications when his "out clause" kicks in
ccc44
Goaltending has not been our problem so it does not really matter who they play tonight

Dogbyte
Schneider had a great game, but the defensive coverage was a lot better than game 1 and 2, and he should have had the rebound on the game winning goal. Luongo also had two good games, so you can't go with the "hot hand" argument. To be honest, I think this is a mistake by AV. In an elimination game like this I think you've got to go to our vets and starters and allow them to decide the outcome. And there's no outcome where Lu gets back in the net now. If we win, Schneider will stay in. If we lose, the seasons over. Huge slap at Luongo, not allowing him to play in an elimination game is much different than game 3 or game 6 last year. And people can say what they want, but he's a proven franchise goalie who has proven he can compete in the playoffs. If we lose tonight, I hope this is the final nail in AV's coffin. 58thecat
Bam baby CS all the way as it should have been from the start! Now elfloppo can start working on where he can go and destroy another teams morale as in a trade!

Yeria
Correct decision, IMO. If not for blown coverage, Schneids would have shut out the Kings last game.
Nino
Feel bad for Lu seeing as he's been great this playoffs and deserves the start. Unfortunate.
Scottish⑦Canuck
Feel sorry for Luongo but I think it's probably the right decision. I think if Lu let in an early goal the crowd and pressure would really get to him. Cory can probably handle it a little better.
ccc44
Just a matter of time before people run Lu out of the city and turn on Schneider. Vancouver is becoming a brutal place to play for. Just look even Kesler lost heart and started diving. I could never see him doing that before. They only player that looked to me like he wanted to win was Lu and now they stuck him on the bench. Special Ed
GAA of 1. Lou's is 3.5. How is that "better"?
Ṣpiderman
Most analysts want Schneider to start. Moj on team 1040, Shorthouse wanted Schneider to start. AV chose Schneider to start. Most fans want Schneider to start. It's pretty obvious who people see as the better goaltender. Those who don't are like Luongo homers who hope we lose today because Schneider is starting.
