afesposit
A good young goalie will bring a lot in the open market I'd figure. His cap # can't be big at all since they have Luongo signed and locked up for the long term.... Bet they could get Kessel and the Monster from Toronto or something like that... Maybe the #1 pick from Edmonton and their current goalie... His name escapes me...

Kesler_smash
Trading Schneider would be the biggest mistake the Canucks franchise made since hiring Keenan, aquiring Messier and trading Linden. People think the Hodgson trade was a mistake? That trade will look like a genius move compared to any trade involving Schneider.

Demo250
He wont get as big of a return as everyone thinks. All we have to trade are his rights. He wont be under contract, meaning whoever got him would only be getting a chance to sign him. Ultimately, it would be in CSs hands if he signed in that place or not. If we locked him up for say 3 years at a reasonable cap hit before trading he would be worth a lot more. This is assuming we even trade him... he is making a very strong campaign for himself right now to stay.
afesposit
Who is going to take that Luongo contract??? Especially w/ a new cba getting ready to be done... We are stuck with him. Unless the new cba has a clause where the team trading the big contract can eat some of the cost for the team receiving the player....

Amish Rake Fighter
His contract isn't bad. There are easy outs in the later years and his cap hit for what he offers right now is above average in terms of value.

afesposit
Let's face it, Schneider is going to play for an American team... He doesn't want to live in Alberta, Winnipeg, Montreal, Toronto maybe, but he's going to the US as an American to play down there.... Bet he will enjoy the sun and beaches of Tampa. Plus, they have no state income tax and it's cheap to live there...

Sea2Sky Country
after tonight all signs point toward schneiderman taking the reigns here in vancouver... you don't start your backup in an elimination game after said backup lost the previous game and the '#1' goalie has been playing very well recently unless the backup is no longer the backup anymore (aka, Schneids is no.1 tender for now it appears) ... what happens to bobby lou and his 5.3m$ cap hit is anyone's guess.
