Sandro17
OK so what if during the off-season, Columbus won't give us their 1st or TB doesn't want to give up Hedman, NJ wouldn't give us Larsson and NYI doesn't give us Neiderietter . Cory's value should hover at around 3.5M this off-season. Other GM's out there know that we want to move a goalie and that could hinder our leverage getting a fair return. Would it be a good idea to keep both goalies? Think about it. If we keep Cory and keep the team rather un-changed for next season, we would be making a statement saying "If you want a star you'll have to give up a star, we're not an organization you can screw over. Not only that, but we'd still be able to say "Were the presidents trophy winners for 2 straight years, we like where we are and you need our guys more than we need yours. Now remember that we only WANT to move a goalie but we don't NEED to. Other teams NEED Cory so why not let the market boil over by not trading with us, other teams only hurt themselves and while we'd be hurting too having 8M locked up in goalies, we're still going to be a power house so there isn't much pressure to move our assets as compared to other teams. We can then stand pat and just wait for one of the above teams to just start failing and eventually realise "OK we need a shake up and our goal tending has been too weak. Then finally get the trade we want
Xbox
There is no leverage because the goalie market is slim and most awful teams need goaltending. Even some good teams do. Toronto New Jersey Florida Tampa Bay Islanders Blue Jackets Blackhawks and to an extent Anaheim Edmonton

Odjickwillkillyou
Gillis already said he intends to keep Schneids. Probably posturing for future dealings, but it may also really be his intent.
Patrick Jane
IF we keep both goalies than we should split 41 games each

Special Ed
We HAVE to get rid of one of them. Personally I hope we can cash in on a young stud d-man. A big one.

Hunter.S-Kerouac
I think we can keep em both just have to move ballard and sign MAG to play in his spot. Unless we get an elite D man in return I don't see moving one of them. I agree if we can't get what we wan't there is no reason we couldn't sign him and deal him or Luo to a lesser extent later when teams get more desperate. It all depends on what teams are willing to pay or not pay in the off season.
Tanev's Smirk
Cap wise it is certainly possible to hold on to both goalies for another season, but I doubt that will happen (want me some Eddie). If it does it would most likely mean that a rookie or two will fill a roster spot (Jensen replacing Raymond?).
smurf47
I think keeping both is a distinct possibility with schneider playing more than Lou. It would be great insurance while seeing if Cory can carry the load. Thats probably the only question mark people have about him.
Go Faulk Yourself
Nope we need to move Lu. Keep the #1 goalie Mr. ginger face and have a bright future. If we keep Lu our future looks bleak at best.
Canucksbiggestfan
Sign Schneider to a 2 year deal @ 5.5 million. Keep both goalies and see what happens next year. Cap is going up to $65-67 million is it not? Pretty sure I heard Bettman say for GM's to work FA as if the cap were to go up. Also if it does then we should be able to sign both goalies with around $2.5 million left, around $4 million with Raymond gone.

Get real canuck fans
Actually, I don't get why you'd say we'd have a bright future with schnieds, it's more like a bright "now", if we build for the future we trade Cory because we can get prospects/draft picks for him, and build Lack as our future goalie. 'NucK™
I wouldn't mind if both goalies were here next year, but I'd rather unload Lu for a 4-6 mil defence-man. (and get a new team to cheer for in the process!)
Go Faulk Yourself
Dont think we could get the same for Lu? Building around a guy with zero NHL regular season minutes is a huge stretch. Many players excel in the AHL and dont ever make a difference at the NHL level. Think most think Cory will be a top notch goalie for close to 10 years because of his superior posiioning and his calm demeanor. One of the Sedins said it today "Cory has a calming effect on the team"so the players themselves have decided who will stay and who will go, and it will be Lu who will be gone in the off-season because having 9 million tied up in goalies and hlding back Lack really doesn't seem reasonable. Day one
I was wrong. In the post below pointing out the terms of Lou's NTC I said by tomorrow it will be like it was never posted. How silly of me to think memories would last even that long.
