hudson bay rules
Kassian just isn't ready right now. Most Canucks fans should've expected this. I think he's going to turn out to be a solid long-term investment. That's why Gillis went out and grabbed an experienced player in Pahlsson. cIutch
its funny how little patience CDC has considering the majority of you are like 12 years old from some of your comments id think your all 60 and waited years for a cup but your not , you just have no patience what so ever and are quick as hell to shoot down a player who may need time to develop
Seanny_Canuck1970
Dale with Manny and Raymond is the right choice. Raymond is struggling, but he provides speed and decent checking. He could be a 2nd line player on most teams. As for the trade stuff, really, come on folks. Hodgson or Kesler? That was the choice. Hodgson was already complaining about third line duties. He is not Jordan Stall. He is soft. So the decision was easy. And GMMG made the right choice, plus we don't know what else was going in the locker room etc. They got Sammy for the current run and Kassian and MAG for future. Hodgson was a bit of a tool anyway; I know people don't like that, but he was.
cIutch
WOOOOOOOOOSH! So many posters don't get it. Its not the trade itself. IT'S THE TIMING OF IT. Do you not think Buffalo would have made that same deal in the Summer? In fact having Cody here would have given him more playoff experience, depending how long we survive, and that would have only increased his value. mcgillnuck
I don't think Kassian was supposed to be able to replace Hodgson right away. It's fine if he doesn't end up playing every playoff game.
cIutch
Then why not make the trade in the summer?

mcgillnuck
really , cause cody was guaranteed to do good there was no chance of him getting shutdown completly and his value being decreased which is probably what would have happened because unlike you i know hodgsons size and speed would only allow him to do so much in a tight series but keep dreaming
Tanev's Smirk
what does it matter , if he was going to be gone regardless why do people put hodgson on a pedastool like he was going to do anything in the playoffs? i really wanna know

250Integra
idiots... THe Hodgson deal was made with the future in mind. It wouldnt have been made if some kid named Schroeder wasnt turning heads. He will soon be in the same shoes as coho was in this year, and he will accept his role, and not have his parents cry to management about ice time. Power forwards with the kind of size that Kassian has traditionally take untill their mid 20s to start to show their top end potential... Now whether he has "it" or not remains to be seen, but I also think the kid needs the benefit of the doubt, and some time and seasoning in the minors before he's considered a bust. He played Junior Hockey last year for frak sakes.... Hodgson was looking promising, but his skill set was somewhat redundant when you consider the depth in the system at that position. It wasnt a year ago that people were calling him a bust aswell....
