OrdinaryBoy
I was accepted into the first year Applied Sciences program for both and I'm torn. UBC has the prestige and the recognizability, whereas SFU is cheaper and you get to know the Professors better. Thoughts and advice?

Dellins
SFU cheaper? I'd go with less expensive. It doesn't have the same campus "vibe" that UBC has, but I don't know how much that matters to you. Disclaimer- SFU student.

Kass9
lol no. I go to ubc and i can tell you the teaching staff there is NO BETTER than any other university. This school is overrated, and expensive.
The Situation
UBC has an awesome campus. The rent is ridiculously high both on and close to campus. I am a computer engineering student here and the program has been pretty good. I know very little about SFU so I can't help you there. In first year, you will be in one giant pool with all the applied science students before you specialize and you can get some more flexibility with who is your professor. Just be sure to switch before the good professor has his classes filled up.
Guest The Brown Burrows
I'm at SFU... Go to UBC, you got accepted so might as well go.
Sanford
Choose UBC... I choosed SFU as well and I regret it. UBC, is more prestigious and feels more like a University town. And whoever said SFU was cheaper.... I don't think that's correct.

ManUtd
Engineering? Go to UBC. Pretty sure they offer all the specialties that SFU does but have civil, mining, geolgical and chemical as well. Better to have as many options as possible unless you're 100% certain which one you want to go into.

Lillooet_Hillbilly
y'all dont need college you just need the hammer test. Take a hammer and if you're smart and savvy you can build stuff and make money, if you're a idiot you just take the hammer and hit people on the head and take there money
Darkstar
It honestly doesn't matter. Just pick the campus with the easier commute if you are not living on residence. All that matters in uni is your connections, not the prestige of your degree.
