he wont. got a nice fat contract with NTG.

exactly haha. who wants luongo for:

"$6.7 million annually through to 2017–18, $3.3 million and $1.6 million the subsequent two seasons, before tailing off to $1 million for the final two years"

(per wikipedia)

no one wants that risk, not going to happen

Both Lou & particularly Schneider played well. Definitely not their problem!

not enough grit

all the other teams in west got bigger

it showed, getting banged up and pushed away on puck battles.

MG got his work cut out for him

neither cory or lui would have won this series

Anyone wanna hop on the preds bandwagon? trust me, we have room lol

I'm definitely cheering for the Preds. How could you not love that team?

If Phoenix, Washington, Florida, and Ottawa win, then the only team left that has actually won a cup before is Philly.

The last six weeks of the regular season told the story of how the Canucks would do in the playoffs. They lost all drive to step up to playoff level. Their checking stopped and become sporadic, their passing game became absolutely pathetic and sloppy, the battles along the boards became a lost cause and Luongo was playing like a yo-yo. No one knew what he was going to bring in to each game.

For some some reason, the entire Canuck team fell apart in March and never recovered. Yes there will be trades, firings, and higher draft choices. If Luongo was more consistent he would remain a Canuck. Kesler, what can you make of this guy? Is he protecting his hip. Sami Salo; though an emotional favourite, he had a terrible last half season. He turned into an old man and played like one. He will be traded or will retire.

We won't be seeing a possible Stanley Cup team in Vancouver for at least another ten years. Rebuilding time.

Did anybody else see Raymond last night. He was in front of our net alone, everyone else was battling on the boards and he face-planted for no reason, god damn.

I dont get it...we learned nothing from the Boston series...we needed clutch scorers this time around, developed Hodgson and then traded him...What the Frack???? If he was a 30 yearold guy that could be clutch like that, you would not get rid of him. Then when you throw in we developed him through all the BS (which really means he stuck around through all the BS) we traded the guy for crap?
I really hope for MG's sake that it officially comes out that Cody wanted out

Lol, Luongo is worth ALOT more than most of you think he is. He's very clearly a top 10 NHL goaltender based on his statistics over the past 5-10 seasons, STILL. His contract isn't as bad as some would surmise, the cap hit is VERY reasonable and as much as some of you scoff at the higher payday he's going to get, stability in net is very hard to find, just ask the Maple Leafs, Blue Jackets, Panthers, Lightning, Oilers, Blackhawks, Flyers, Avs, Islanders etc. The thing that hurts his value is the NTC, but either way, he's a valuable asset to have, who's at his best when he gets a big workload. His contract isn't in Scott Gomez and Wade Redden territory of untradeable, not even close.

You are posting from dedication and hero worship. Luongo is now one of the most inconsistent goalies in the NHL. No one knows what game he will be bring with him from game to game. His goals against average dictate that fact. His flopping down to his belly has become a terrible determent to his ability to recover to make a second save. The players were diving behind him to cover up for him whenever he started his belly flopping act. This clearly shows that the players have lost confidence in him.

He will be traded this summer, whether or not the management has to continue to pay part of his contract. The Nucks "will not" trade a a young goalie like Schneider who is showing all the signs of future greatness and is still developing.

Still can't believe it
Woke up this morning and checked Twitter for news from practice and then realized it was all over

Everyone is saying that we lost because of the Hodgson trade or we lost because Daniel was injured.

No - they were the better team. Straight up they outplayed us in every facet of the game. We've scored 16 goals in our last 12 playoff games. The problem runs all the way down the depth chart.

If there is to be a silver lining around this humiliating loss it's that hopefully it'll prompt some significant changes

But for now I feel like Canucks fans don't have the right to mock anyone - even Calgary or Toronto - because as far as I'm concerned, a 5-game exit for the President's Trophy winners is more humiliating than missing the playoffs.

Yeah the 'playoff switch' has clearly been proven to be non-existent.

It isn't so much as losing in the 1st round, since that happens all the time. It isn't so much as losing to the 8th seeded team, as that happened all the time. The problem is we got DOMINATED by the 8th seeded team. Yes let's face it we got dominated. We lost the series 1-4 and it wasn't even a lucky win by the King. The Kings out played us in nearly every single game. How can the President's Trophy winner get DOMINATED by the 8th seeded team like this?

My prediction: AV 100% gone (he put 4 guys in front of the net and Richardson still scores. Not sure if that's his fault. But he is gone either way). Luongo 80% gone (wasn't even his fault, but just business)

I have been calling for an ogre dman ALL SEASON. All freaking season. We didn't get any. Look at the Richardson goal. We have 4 guys there and NO ONE could push him down. That's how weak we are. We have no physicality in our defensive zone at all. We are fast and have no problem hitting people. But when you need to clear the front of the net we need size and muscles. Speed won't do anything.

Been saying this all season. They didn't listen. Look what happened.

Come on people ........ aren't you immuned from disappointment yet, after 40 years or so? And you must also be very familiar with "there's always a next year." Canucks are continuously in retooling mode. The SC may end up here for your grandkids, maybe never!!

Enough with the injury excuses for Kesler.

What, he gets injured a year ago and he carries that excuse as long as he dissapoints? He didn't play well. It happens but he is responsible. A big part of why is that teams adjusted to him and his game has not developed new dimensions to compensate. It's like an exaggerated version of Ovechkin's slowdown. Injury is not the issue.

No offence past the Sedins. You just can't will with one offensive line.
