defense needs a massive overhaul and kesler needs an actual 2nd line to play on

kesler doesn't play with anyone.

It was actually a nice game to watch. So sad, the Canucks lost. Guess, we got to keep waiting. GO CANUCKS GO!

Still, RAYMOND fell too EARLY. He could've completed that wrap around and become a star.

HAMHUIS should have just passed. WTF was he thinking?

Nahh, I'm kidding. Great effort boys.

I believed in the comeback. Thank you anyway to the Canucks for something to do in my boring life. Now, I can do my homework again!

Too many passengers all series, period.

Goaltenders did everything they could.

D probably played the worst I've ever seen them play. Bowness is gone. Too many times this D has had meltdowns.

No second or third line.

How the F*** can you say Lu needs to go when Schneider played the last 3 games!

I think we should keep Schneids too but this is no time to pin anything on Lu.

But Raymond definetly needs to go, been saying this forever.

Schneider played amazing in the last 3 games and finished with the second highest save percentage in the regular season.

Luongo did not play well in the first 2 games and had worse stats in the regular season.

The better goalie deserves to stay.

No will to win. Enough said.

This team came into the post season with so much potential. So much to prove. So much talk.

And they didn't bring it. Absolutely nothing. This is an epic fail. We aren't talking just losing here. We are talking why. Where was the A grade effort. We had 1 full A grade game out of 5. Not acceptable at all.

The worst of it is. They allowed themselves to get outworked badly on home ice. And lost all 3 home games. The best team in the league. Didn't show up to play in the post season. I don't know who showed up to play. Wasn't the team i know.
Shootouts are entertaining but they are not worth points!!!

If we were relying on Erhoffs defensive zone coverage we were dead already.

not sure about that. erhoff sucked defensively

edler took a nose dive this post season for sure. he cost nux many games

Erhoff's contract is worse than luongo's.

Great player, terrible contract.

Im not saying he was good. Im just thinking after dropping a top4? d-man, all we did was rely on call ups. We didn't find a top 4 d-man to replace him, left a hole in the line up that the call ups couldn't fill.

Oh well. Still have an epic long term team. They'll make a couple of changes and get back to the playoffs again next year. Sucks they lost but I'm still going to root for them next season and believe they'll win the Cup in 2013.

When Vancouver scored only 8 goals in 7 games in SCF and yet MG traded away Coho who provided the all important secondary scoring, this early exit is expected when the top two lines are again shut down. How could MG trade away a guy who played only 12 mins. a game and be a potential Calder trophy candidate for nothing?

AV should be fired as he could not even put up a decent 4th line for all his years here. Vancouver is beaten by the opposition 4th lines year after year.

kes was playing better, but never finished

the second like didnt make any big impact in the series

no one-two punch like last yr's playoffs

the 3rd line was decent.

Big sore spots were anemic PP at the beginning, edler and bxa errors

the winning goal today was just bad luck, not going pin it on hamhuis. again, physical play got it done for LAK.

The off season wishlist:

coaching change either AV or the assistant

let go of softer players like ray.

need to get another shut down D man who can replace edler's ice time.

sign cory to a contract, sweeten the deal with guaranteed min starts.

This game is an example of why playoff hockey is so exciting. The Canucks started strong, were physical, and finally got another power play goal. It looked like the Canucks were in great position. In the second half of the second period the Kings really took over, and the Canucks were on the ropes. They were being so aggressive they gave up 2 glorious shorthanded chances. And the Canucks squandered both of those chances. And still it seemed like the Canucks were going to extend their lead. But the Canucks' luck ran out finally, and the Kings tied it. I confess I felt a sinking feeling in my gut when that happened. I didn't feel good about the Canucks' chances, the way they were playing. The Canucks did get a little better, however, but as we all know, not good enough. Both teams were playing pond hockey in OT, Raymond just didn't have the finish.
It just wasn't the Canucks' year, I guess. They never looked as strong as last year. It's hard to say what exactly they were missing, but I'll leave that for another post perhaps.
Congratulations to the LA Kings, who really played some great hockey. I think Darryl Sutter outcoached Vigneault in this series, and they played a really strong team game. And although I expected they'd play dirty, they did not, so I was wrong about that.

Well, on a positive note, we can put to rest the Great Myth of the Flicking of the Switch. Hopefully we never hear about it again. There is no switch that can be flicked at will. To be honest, this loss isn't hitting me as hard as I thought it would. When you go down 3-0 the wise man knows in his heart that it's done, so I'm upset but at the same time relieved that it's over quickly instead of dragging it out and giving us hope. Anyway, another great regular season and nothing much to show for it.
Full marks to LA. They deserved this series. I think they have a chance to make some noise the rest of the way. They did a lot of things well and a few things great. This is not a fluke, they're a very good team and I wish them luck.

Even though this game didn't end well for us, I appreciate what our boys have done for us this season.
This off-season will be interesting, and we'll be blasting out of the gates all the way next year!

Good effort by the team but no second line scoring.

If Kes does not recover back to form he needs a power forward he can play with to be a success again.

The Canucks need a big, scoring PF and PP d man now.

Kass and Mags are years away from potentially filling those roles.

Adios, AV. Have fun losing in Montreal.

This team needs more players that can snipe. Same problem we had in the Finals.

This goes way beyond that - Trading away your third highest scorer for what has been a bench warmer sunk this team. What a different team we would be with Grabner and Cody still in the line up. With the Sedins another year older - Kesler completly flat this team was not going anywhere in the playoffs. You can't lay the blame on any one single player though - collectivly they struggled and add in a hot goalie in quick and they simply ran out of tricks. I wouldn't say blow the whole team up but clearly we need some more fire power - Both goailies kept us in every game - the team collectivley couldn't score when they needed to.

For the team who was eliminated 2nd last a year ago, to the team who was eliminated 4th first now. My how things changed.

I hope we've seen the last of Gillis, the blame lands squarely on his shoulders. From not picking up a top 4 d-man last summer to partner Edler, to the Booth trade, to the Hodgson trade. He gutted this team and left nothing for the future. Detroit, Ottawa, St Louis and NYR could all call up talented prospects from the farm team. Canucks don't have that luxury as there is no one on the farm. They were left with 1 scoring line and a great goaltender who was drafted by someone else.

Extremely disappointed with the entire team except Sedins, Hansen, Schneider and Lu. Once the playoffs started, they all disappeared - Kesler much earlier. This team needs a large makeover this summer, I don't care who goes except for the Sedins and Schneid. And I hope someone other than Gillis is making the decisions.

I'm going to be completely honest:

With the teams that are moving on: Los Angeles, St. Louis, Nashville and perhaps Phoenix - I don't care for the West at all. I hope I don't sound bitter, because I'm not - I just want exciting hockey. I really hope Philly or Ottawa takes the Stanley Cup.

As for the Canucks. Disappointed with a lot of players - but in general, I'm proud of the team. Good job boys and hopefully next season will end differently.

Good season boys! Good team, but no great.

We needed Danny for games 1-3.

Looking forward to a productive offseason and a deeper run for 2012-2013.

Well I'm pretty disappointed but not overly devastated since I knew the odds were already stacked against us, and I was prepared to lose.

Good season guys, first round upsets happen to even the best of teams. LA is a good team and I've got respect for them. At least we didn't go down without a fight.

There will be some holes to fill this offseason, but I doubt big sweeping changes will happen. I hope MG can make the necessary moves to keep our important players in Vancouver and upgrade the things that need to be upgraded so we can come back stronger than ever next season.

Time to go enjoy the rest of spring and summer, follow the offseason moves, and look forward to getting back in action next year.

Kessler is NOT useless,

He spent his very short summer rehabbing a busted hip,

What this team needs is the long summer that they are about to have.

Next year they will be hungry, ready and fully recovered from this years events.

man.... I have so many different thoughts.... a lot on the Canucks, mistakes they made, dissapointments, a lot on all the stupid posts I'm reading on this thread, and then also the sympathetic side of me has a lot I wanna say in defense of the Canucks as well. At the end of the day though I'm just in shock and in a lot of pain after that goal..... very upset right now, hate losing and hate it even more when favored to win :s
