Hi all,

I don't know about you, I have the feeling that Kesler was playing injured the entire season. I don't think he ever fully recovered from his off season surgery. To me, he never seemed to get his legs back and he was a step behind where he was last year. Hopefully a long break this summer will have him back to the Kes we all know and love.

He was still our fourth "best" player this year, I just think last season was a career year for him

As bad as it sounds. I hope that wasn't the 100% Kesler that we'll have from now on. I hope last year wasn't a one hit wonder.

Scarier but more pertinent question: Will Kesler ever be 100% again?

I've always gone under the assumption that major hip surgeries take a full year to heal properly.

He got his chances. Just didn't bury them like last year. He also got a lot of his goals from powerplays, which as we all know, has dropped significantly as compared to last year. His strides seem to be there during the latter half of the season, but he just wasn't able to capitalize. Too bad. Like PenguinsCanFly said, last season was probably just a career year for him.

If he was, why did he come back so early in the season? He could have had a bit more time to heal.

Trade him while his price tag is high and get someone who can play a team game.

Interesting question. Methinks something was definately wrong with Kes this year. Injury recovery the most likely.

Kes is a warrior and needs a good rest. Now ,at least, he gets it.

We needed a strong Kes in beast mode to win anything and that was not possible this year.

In many ways an early exit is good for the team.

That is one of the most stupid posts I've seen tonight. Ryan Kesler is a franchise player. His price tag is that high for valid reason. He IS a team player, this guy could be Captain, heck, in my opinion, should be captain. Kes is a warrior, a workhorse, when he doesn't score goals, he makes all those simple unnoticeable plays that he doesn't get enough credit for. There is a reason he won the Selke trophy last year. ANY team other than the Canucks hates to play against Kesler, but in a heartbeat would trade for him. Ryan Kesler is my favourite player, and always will be.

If Kesler WASNT 100%, then that makes the Hodgson trade even more stupid.

Yes, he was 100%. He just didn't cut it out there. There is no such thing as turning on a switch or turning it up in the playoffs, you've got to be good all year and carry that into the SCP. He had a short, very ahort summer, couldn't train, workout or get in shape. What do you expect? He was one step behind all year, and David Booth didn't help.

Keep Ryan Kesler, he has the heart, drive and potential to win us a Stanley Cup, and he will, just not this year.

Yes. He was 100%.

Don't know why everyone gives him a free injury pass because of him sucking. Last year was a career year and this year, he played too selfishly.

Sure would be nice to have CoHo around so that Kesler would even be an option to trade. Its like since CoHo went, his production dropped off even MORE from the poor pace he was already on. He makes $5million long term and has zero risk of anyone moving up the lineup to take his job. I certainly hope this offseason he trains hard and puts up 70+pts, otherwise maybe we can trade Luongo+Kassian and get someone like CoHo back.

he had a career year, then last year he managed similar points but way more goals - playing very selfishly but getting away with it with production. This year his production dropped but his play style didn't get back to the basics. badbadbad

He only missed 8 or 9 season games this year right?

If he's not 100%, I wonder why he couldn't just rest a bit more, or train/workout a bit more before going back into the line-up. He could have let Hodgson play on the 2nd line longer.

Did Bredan also shoot on 2 on 0s? Did he always try to go through all five other players instead of passing the puck?

If he wasn't 100%, he shouldn't have come back. Kesler has no excuses for not performing. He needs to pick it up next season if he is still here.

Definitely wasn't the Kesler of 2010-11 Playoffs.
