Gillis is sweating bullets consulting his speech writers right now. 17 hrs before facing the wolves.

"I have asked Mr. Aquilini not to extend my contract when it expires after the next season. I will begin to transfer leadership to Laurence Gilman as the next GM of the Vancouver Canucks."

Why would he say that?

Probably going to address the fans and talk about how they are disappointed they didn't go far, but are happy about the regular season.

May also say things like changes are coming and the issues will be addressed on defense and offense.

Lol, that would totally be very gillis of him to give a speech we've heard over and over to the point we can just type up what's covered right now.

Gillis won't make the same mistake like what he did with Hodgson.

They have approved to give in to Raymond's demand of more ice-time.

Doubt he'll have much to say in that regard, unless it's about Keith's elbow. Canucks got outplayed for the majority of the series. We had ample opportunity on the PP, but couldn't get it going until Daniel came back.

I'm not expecting AV to get fired tomorrow, but anything can happen.

Yea, it was Keiths fault that the Kings outplayed his team.... sounds about right for the guy.

That's the least of our worries. I'm still wondering if we will have to sit through another Quenneville tearfest before these playoffs are out :P

Yea, Q is one to whine.... you can see it in his press conferences.... I am waiting for him to list all the players injuries and their supposed causes when his team loses....

Hey... I think AV should keep his job before Gillis should..... Everybody wants to dump AV long before Gillis and I don't quite know why ? Oh and I didn't bring up Q, who has no bearing on this thread... so keep that in mind.

Actually in some ways I do agree with you. However i'm just noting the hypocrisy of seeing that as "calling it like it is" and when a rival team does it..its "whining".

Amusing.

I think we should make a drinking game based upon how many times the President's Trophy is mentioned.

Just a "state of the union" sort of thing. I don't expect many concrete answers as to the future of anyone on the team. It's going to be a lot fo what went right, what did not go right, "we have to evaluate our team moving forward" and "_____ has a no-trade clause, and we will not ask him to waive it."

It is the way something is done.... and I think you know the difference.
