Raymond - does not fit in the top 6 or bottom 6.

Malhotra - makes too much for a one dimensional player.

The Canucks want to get younger and bigger, getting rid of these 2 would be a start and open up room for Jensen and Schroeder.

Barring any trades, I wouldnt mind seeing this lineup next season.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows

Jensen - Kesler - Booth

Higgins - Schroeder - Hansen

Kassian - Lappiere - Weise

Did you see Raymond when he first came up? No, you didn't because you weren't even a Canucks fan back then.

Although you already have no credibility, after you mention Raymond being "a hard nosed player", you might actually have minus credibilty points now as even those most loyal Raymond fans couldn't use those words to describe Raymond without chuckling to themselves knowing that is the last thing that he is.

Rumour is AV will be back, so we can expect Raymond and Malhotra back. Which is the last thing I want to happen.

I hope a full year of Malhotra and Raymond + playoffs is enough for MG to realise we will not win when these 2 players and dump them and give the young prospects a chance.

In todays NHL, impactful ELC players + a good core is what will win you a cup, having 2.5m on a faceoff specialist and another 2.5m to a figure skater is a waste of roster spots and cap space.

Just take a look at LA for example, Malhotra makes more than the entire Kings 4th line, a line that absolutely owned ours head to head.

Malhotra and Raymond has got to go.

Based on Gillis' press conference yesterday, it sounds like the Canucks are going to keep Raymond as they are not ready to give up on him just yet. I wouldn't mind keeping Raymond, as long as its around 1-1.5 mil and he stays away from the top six.

i think Lappy should be the third line center, he's good enough for a role

this is unless they want a scoring third line (doubtful as Hodgson was traded...)

The issues are prevalent on offense, Need that playmaker on the second line, someone to feed booth and kes the puck

first off the province writers are very weak, there are better observations from fans here in this room than what you will get from all media in general, media are mostly lap dogs for the canuck organization, they are unreliable from team evaluation to rumors, so i dismiss them and listen to what the fans have to say for player evaluation.

so why did we pick up paulson, we used the hodgson deal for a rent-a-player ( sami replaced cody at center ).... i think schroeder is too small to play the shut down roll and if the canucks want scoring from the third line, why trade cody?

i'm through with raymond, reminds me of peter schaeffer, mason can have his one good year someplace else, manny is a tough decision, still young, great team guy and a roll player. i would keep him in a limited roll as it were becuase you need him in the playoffs but at the same time see if you can fil that hole through the course of the season, he's not costing us that much.

I voted that Raymond will be back and Malholtra will not be.

I firmly believe however that Raymond should be gone and Malholtra should stay.

Manny is a great leader with this team and when he does retire, I'd love to see him stay with the organization. Maybe he plays out one more year and then moves into a different capacity with the team.

As for Raymond, I don't understand the love affair that the coaching and management has with this guy. I'm no hockey expert but I agree with another post I read a couple of weeks back 'Raymond is where good plays go to die.' Although, I would admit that my lack of hockey expertise could also be missing something. I see him as defensive at times, but just not going to score, which is what we needed this year.

I'm sorry you don't understand "hard nosed." It means he has played 5 seasons in the toughest league, one of them after a broken back. Did you see him battling in the playoffs? He plays at a faster pace than most, making risk of injury greater and yet didn't waste any time in getting back..........I was comparing that to Sweatt who came up and to all intents and purposes "choked" because he was not ready. (I like Bill Sweatt by the way)

I care not what you or anyone thinks about my credibility (come back when you have watched hockey for over 20 yrs). My views are backed up every time the coach picks him and consequently your views are shown to be exactly what they are ............uninformed bias by another short attention span Playstation Jockey.

Sorry, but do you watch Chicago? Did you see Sweatt when he was up?

He's not ready to lace Raymond's skates. Jeez get real, all these fantasy world ideas look good on paper but the truth is Raymond is a hard nosed, 15+ mins/game, 2 way skater who carries a threat when he is fit at any level. (probably why MG doesn't want to let him go) Sweatt won't be ready to come in for 5 mins a game until after next year.

Well Bodee, since I've been playing and watching hockey for almost 35 years, I guess that would mean that I can "come back" now doesn't it? Not to mention, my 35 years started when I was 3 years old as I was born and raised around the game. While you were chasing sheep in the rolling hills of Scotland into your mid 40's before you apparently finally discovered this great game, most of us had already been around the game since we were old enough to walk, while spending endless hours at our local rinks. You on the other hand, have been watching hockey for 20 years. So, even with your obvious lack of intelligence, I'm sure that you can do the math on the 35 minus 20 thing.....then again, I probably assumed to much considering who I'm talking about, so in saying that, the difference is 15.

You need to apologize to not only me but everyone else on this site who has to listen to your uninformed drivel. As I stated, even the most loyal Raymond fan would never confuse him with being hard nosed. Use any type of reasoning that you want, but your idea of what hard nosed is obviously doesn't relate to hockey. Like I said, the idea of Raymond being a hard nosed player is laughable. And just because he skates fast doesn't put him at risk of being injured more often because you usually get hurt when you're in contact with another player which he rarely is. If he were a guy like Hansen who skates almost as well but who also hits and isn't afraid of being hit, then you might have a point. There's a reason why everyone, including his coach and GM, are constantly on him about needing to go to the dirty areas, and that's because he's far from hard nosed. If he was, he wouldn't be getting called out by his own GM and coach about it.

Yes, I did see him in the playoffs. His work ethic usually can't be questioned but his production sure can. What did he have this year 1 assist? That's awesome!!! Even the coach said that he had to drop him to the 4th line because he wasn't cutting it on the first 3 lines and didn't deserve to be there. So, maybe you should listen with your ears instead of your big uninformed mouth. I do believe that I also seen him cost us a very important goal when he whiffed on an attempted hit on Kopitar. Thanks, but I seen enough to know that he once again proved to everyone that he's no playoff performer....or regular season performer for that matter.

Wow, I can't believe that you said that Sweatt choked when he was called up. Another asinine comment you made which is par for the course. He played on the 4th line and got very limited minutes. You could tell that he needed more seasoning but that is far from choking. Choking is what Raymond does in the playoffs over his entire career.

Although I've never played Playstation, I'm sure that those who do, probably pick up more hockey knowledge than what you obviously do from thousands of miles away.....20 years or not.
