Burrows returns to Switzerland to represent Canada. He won a World Ball Hockey Championships Gold Medal for Canada in Sierre, Switzerland in 2003.

Congrats Alex!

I don't think he loves it the same way as burrows. I was just pointing out this would be a good pr move for Lou.

He'll interestingly be the oldest player on the team.

Burrows just loves to play hockey. Now why not Lou-gone-go it would be a great move for him to join and show the NHL he loves the game.

Crosby Stamkos Toews etc. aren't going either so why are you singling out Luongo

I don't think hockey players really care about PR. They're people, not companies, so I don't think they care too much if they're popular or not.

You may be right but a good showing could give his new fans some hope. I'm not trying to turn this into a Lou topic, let's get back to Alex and drop Lou out of this. I love how he is not about the money an just loves hockey.

Congrats and hope you do well.

Oh and don't forget the present that the Sedins asked you to deliver to DK <_<

I usually try to catch some IIHF games every year, but this year will be easier to catch them all and since Alex is playing I will be very interested to see how he does.
Well deserved Alex Burrows !

All Canada games will be on TSN as well as all the Quarter, Semi, Bronze & Gold
Hope Canada do well.

GO Canada GO :towel: :towel: :towel: :towel: :towel:

here is the IIHF schedule from May 4th to May 20th:

Apparently Lowe is scraping the bottom of the burr-ell ... Bruins sophomore couldn't make it.

"Team Canada GM Kevin Lowe was waiting for a medical report on Boston Bruins’ Tyler Seguin, and Burrows was added after it was learned Seguin will need minor hand surgery.

“Everyone wanted to see Seguin,” Lowe said of the management group looking at this team with an eye to evaluating players on the big ice for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia."

Why doesn't Schneider go play for Team USA to show the NHL he loves the game?

What a piss-poor post on your part.

He has to pack.

Good luck to Burrows.

HAHA Yes, yes he does. Flip-flops, swim trunks, sun screen..........
Yes, Opus would be proud.........He's probably watching the games with Bill the Cat and Steve Dallas, somewhere in Bloom County, he probably has his cup of tea and he is wearing the Canucks third jersey because its "politically correct". After games, the three of them sit around and debate why the needless violence in sports is necessary with Steve Dallas always being the voice of reason on such matters. Bill the Cat is still sitting around licking his a*se and coughing up hairballs, looking forward to drinking milk out of the great silver chalice. Ahh life is good in Bloom County..........Carry on for Vancouver, Opus, carry on.

I am very happy for Burrows, and Hansen for making the Team Canada, and Team Denmark. (Sad to see that the Sedin's didn't make team Sweden, but I can probably guess why, Daniel is coming off of a concussion and I imagine Henrik still has a lot of work to do with the Canucks.)

A thought just occured to me about Luongo, why didn't Team Italy pick him up? Luongo could play for them, (His parents are from there) Not that Italy has a prayer in Hades to even win a medal at the championships but it would show that he has passion for the game still. Any thoughts?
