No, thank YOU!! Finally someone with an informed opinion. It's shocking to read the hypocrisy in this thread from a bunch of city folk who know nothing about nature. Hunters care more about the environment than most of these tree hugging, latte sipping citiots who talk big about nature because it makes them feel warm and fuzzy but will never put any real effort into making a difference. Hunters want to preserve their sport and put a lot of effort into keeping nature the way it is. Hunting is part of Canada's heritage, if you don't like it, feel free to leave.
Also, by law here in bc you have to remove the edible portions of the 4 quarters and loins, so I don't know what everyone is bitching about "wasting" the meat.
Thanks for your opinion. Hunting != Canadian heritage, just a fyi. And hunters drink lattes too. And it is incorrect and bigoted in general to target a group of people for derision. Or should I bite back and say: Funny how people who like hunting fall into that category.... Not very nice is it, and quite incorrect, as a lot of hunters would not fall into that category at all. About being informed - it is not an accident that 80% of BC is off-limits to hunting bears, else the population wouldn't have increased (that doesn't support your argument, just that it is worthwhile to keep restrictions on the hunters). Being well informed is usually a misnomer for having an opinion backed up with some of the facts... Understanding the consequences of those facts is quite another thing. As there are good points on both sides, there is no real winner. Nor any point in arguing really, but that would be nihilism or something like that.
