Hi.

This is a proposal if Martin Brodeur retires this off season, which seems 50/50 right now, so here it goes.

To VAN: UFA rights to Parise & Adam Larsson
To NJD: Roberto Luongo, Jordan Schroeder, Yann Sauvé, VAN 2012 & 2013 2nd round picks

Reasons: If Brodeur retires, New Jersey will need another goaltender, and Luongo would give them 4-6 more elite years. Adam Larsson popped into my mind because he wasn't getting much playing time these playoffs. Our best forward and defensive prospects head the other way. And the big prize is Parise. If this deal were to happen I would hope he would call up his good friend (Ryan) Suter and say, "Come to VanCity, bud!"

Critique to make it better if not quite right, please.

Over payment. Jordan Schroeder and Yann Sauve are our future. Our prospects pool already suffered losing Cody, we don't need to lose more than that. And we're shipping Luongo along with them too? What if Parise doesnt want to sign here? And in addition to the great prospects we have, you want to give away two 2nd round picks? I thought we're supposed to get younger, shipping two of our young prospects with good potential wont help that.

No to this proposal.

We acquired Kassian who is younger, as well I wouldn't necessarily call Sauve our future.

Jensen, Connauton, Corrado, Friesen say hello.

I'm just drooling at the ownage of Kesler-Parise and Edler-Larsson

Instead of Schroeder, what about our 2012 & 2013 third rounders along with the rigts to Raymond?

I would still do your proposal.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

Maybe this slight switch up for the proposal:

To VAN: Zach Parise (UFA), Adam Larsson + Alexander Urbom
To NJD: Roberto Luongo, Mason Raymond (RFA), Yann Sauvé & Van 2012 2nd

Keeping Schroeder

You're mentioning 4 prospects as of now. Corrado, Friesen, and Jensen still need more years of development as we drafted them all in the previous draft (if my memory is correct). Sauve is more defensively ready than Connauton.

If any of our prospects is close to cracking the team, its Schroeder, and trading him will keep us waiting a bit longer

I'd love to have Larsson on this team ..he's going to be a stud. I remember reading how Larsson models his game after Lidstrom's, and another good thing is he's a right-handed shot, something we need.

Edler - Larsson

I was simply suggesting that our prospect pool is not as weak as you say it is. As far as NHL readiness is concerned Jensen could have the upper hand over Schroeder based purely on the size component.

I was saving the first round pick for a different set of trades. Calgary is 50/50 on rebuilding/reloading, so that 1st round pick I would like to use is to acquire a pure playmaker for Kesler and Booth. TANGUAY!

Well you never know. Size doesn't necessarily equal better NHL readiness. Look at Kassian compared to Hodgson. Hodgson's skill was at the NHL level, while Kassian's skill wasn't. I believe that Schroeder could still be more set than Jensen at the moment, in terms of speed and skills.

My gut tells me Larrson is going to be a playoff hero that upsets Philly.

As much as I want Parise and Larsson, I even made a proposal with juice for exactly yours.

Don't think we'll get that lucky.

Larsson isn`t even 20, was picked 4th overall last year and was logging top 4 minutes.
He is about as untouchable as you get.

Unless Edler + is going the other way Larsson isn`t moving (think Edler + Kassian).

Luongo addresses an organizational need....but New Jersey loses their best offensive player and Larsson could very well be their #1 d-man by next year.

i like both players. I would put mayray in there instead of jordon.

The deal is already extremely lopsided for Vancouver...and you want to take out the 2nd most valuable piece and replace it with a spare part?

You gotta think from NJ point of view.

Over payment. Jordan Schroeder and Yann Sauve are our future.

We would need to add in MayRay and at least a 1st.

Raymonds value is extremely low, and a late 1st round pick doesn't add a lot of incentive for NJ to give up 2 franchise caliber players.

We are basically trading an aging goaltender, a good prospect in Jordan Schroeder, a mid level prospect in Yann Sauve and 2 seconds round pick for a young defenseman who is going to be a stud and the right to an allstar. To make this work i think u would need to though in this years first. You wont get a future elite defenseman for that package.

^ this,
seriously lets pick one awesome young player that we never had a chance in getting wait until he shows signs of being a top end NHL player then make up a dumb proposal that includes 2-4 draft picks and 1-3 roster players and 1-2 mid-tier prospects.
Then procede 2 - 3 posts after where someone suggests the need to add Raymond + first to make it fair....
5 more posts later then everyone realizes that this post is dumb has no value in it what-so-ever.
5 minutes later look at the next Liberace post
Then Repeat.
