Raph
He might be ready right now, however, if he hasn't got a spot to play up here then it's better that he stay in the minors. About the only real advantage in playing Schroeder as a 3rd line center is to showcase his talents on the chance that he gets traded, kinda' like what Pittsburg is doing with Staal. regards, G. canucks3322
they might do what they did with Hodgson call him up play 8 games then send him down and call him up and then make the team in 2013-2014

dura_mater
Pretty sure only the Sedins and Raymond(barely) are offensive out of your list.. the rest are two way players.. I said "offensive" (Shirokov, Grabner, Hodgson, etc...) Atta girl
susraiders
I will give him another year in the AHL, but I doubt he ever plays a full season with the Canucks. MG doesn't like young players.
70seven
wow.. a lot of bitter dumasses in this thread. Schroeder will be an NHLer with the Canucks. He'll have a shot at training camp to crack the roster. Maybe he'll make it, maybe he wont. Another year or 2 in the A wont hurt his development.

b-mo
well, considering pahlsson is a free agent, and possibly malhotra, there is a realistic chance for schroeder to make the team as a 3rd line center who plays on the pp or fills in as a 2nd line winger. he's gonna have to turn heads in training camp though

Dr. J.
I am afraid that I do not predict a lengthy NHL career for Schroeder. In fact, he may never play in the big league. This year, his best in the AHL, he finished third in Wolves scoring with 21 goals and 23 assists. These are not the sorts of numbers that you expect from someone who will be a top six forward on a good NHL team. (Schroeder is too small for a bottom six role.) Hodgson did not put up great numbers in the AHL, but he was not 100% healthy. Schroeder, in contrast, was the only Wolf to play all 76 games this past season. Jensen has a much better chance of making the team next year.
RunningWild
Short article from Dobberhockey: http://prospects.dobbersports.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4497:jordan-schroeder&catid=21:vancouver-canucks&Itemid=179 Fantasy Outlook: C Schroeder's expectations have been tempered since his draft year but he remains a highly intelligent player with good vision and a strong work ethic. Schroeder has the skills to play in a top-six role as he is very strong on his skates. Due to his smaller stature, Schroeder will need to rely on his strong skating to succeed against his bigger NHL opponents. Schroeder may be more suited as a third line center with the potential to chip in offensively – much like Kyle Wellwood.

It's Bieksa's Fault
Schroeder could use another year in the AHL to get ice time, gain some muscle and all in all hone his game, but he's ready to get a few games here and there. Also, if Raymond is dealt, Schroeder will likely make the lineup, but if Raymond stays, Schroeder will need one heck of a camp.
