Hits, fights, scores... That's what you want as a leader... Not some soft serve like we got... This guy is a leader....

He created that goal the other night blasting the defender off the puck and getting the pass and going to the net...

Would be nice to have someone like The Doaner as our captain.. You can tell this man wants it!

Our best simply wasn't good enough. He was the best of a bad situation. The team didn't start playing until game 3

Soft serve = 2nd on ironman streak

I like Shane Doan but I would NOT trade him for one of the Sedins, sorry.

Doan is also last player off for pre game skate every time... He runs the warmups and clears the pucks out of the net and gets it organized... He's the leader in all ways...

Do you watch the games? Do you see the abuse they take? Duncan Keith says HI!

We need a captain like Jarome Iginla.

Fights, scores, classy, a great leader on and off the ice.

They don't fight back though... They just take it... 6 punches to the face later, b/c Marchand "felt like it...."

Wouldn't happen to Doan.

No question Doan is a great team leader but I always felt people put way to much credit into the captain. IMO the Coyotes are all Mike Smith. Smith sucked in Tampa because Lecavalier is a weak leader and is thriving now because Doan gives him the power he needs?

Of course goaltending makes a huge difference... When Bryz was here last year he was terrible in the playoffs.. If he was here this year the Coyotes probably get swept again first round, but the Flyers are loaded w/ talent and able to overcome his terrible play for the most part... Though it will catch up to them eventually....

Game 2 against Chicago, Doan blasted Keith off the puck behind the Hawks net and set up the guy coming down the slot for a goal.. It was an awesome play.

I live in AZ and have been going to games all season... Fyi.. Didn't just start going at the playoffs...

I've always rooted for the Canucks.... Got hooked on them w/ NHL93/94 Bure, Ronning, Linden, McClean... They were stacked and fast... They were my favorite team to use... I also hated the Rangers so I was rooting for them to win the cup that year... I've kept rooting or them ever since...

Well now you have your own team to cheer for. Don't come in here calling our captain soft and not expect a reaction. Yeah, they don't fight....everyone knows that....just re-enforces the fact that Marchand is a rat bastard. But they are tough as they take a lot of abuse every single game but they get up every time - see the Duncan Keith hit or Dustin Brown hit in the playoffs(those are just recent examples).

I just mean I don't think it's a captain thing. I just see it as a letter on the chest. Ovechkin is a captain who takes a lot of heat especially lately yet with him even being benched at times his team still managed to derail the reigning cup champs. Philadelphia has no captain now but managed to roll over the Penguins with there posterboy captain. As great a captain as Iginla is his team missed the playoffs and went out without a fight.

If we flipped Henrik Sedin and Shane Doan would ether team really be in a different position? We can't answer for sure but I don't think it would.

Henrik and Shane may both be captains but they have different roles on each team. I don't think they are comparable. Nor do I see anything wrong with how Henrik conducted himself. IMO I would say Kesler could take a page from Doan's book but thats it.

That's a terrible argument, and I agree that the Sedins need to fight back or guys will continue to take liberties, especially seeing as they dont have the Charas and Lucics on their team.

Speaking of Sedin's "fighting back", its really dumb.

When Sedins dont fight back, people will call on them: "WHY DIDNT YOU FIGHT BACK SEDINS??"

But when Sedins do retaliate, people STILL call on them: "Thats not the Sedin's game. They should go back to playing the way they play"

:picard:

This bashing of Henrik as a leader is ridiculous. He's proven himself a true leader during the playoffs this year. He was one of, if not the best player this year. Coming back from the Brown hit was amazing and inspiring.

But not when you're on the receiving end on it thanks to the amount of time you spend battling in the corners.

Apparently he has watched it since at least 1994 and is still clueless. You can't fix stupid.

Yeah definitely not Henrik's fault (This Year), it's just that no one else showed up but Cory and Lou.

Canucks fans see a player that had a great 1 game, and all of a sudden, "YES YES I RATHER HAVE THAT GUY OVER OUR CAPTAIN." or "I rather have that scrub over an art ross trophy winner."

Noobs everywere.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.
