[Confirmed] Mike Gillis Agrees To Contract Extension

I am amongst the critics of Gillis's performance this season; but handily admit great performance overall.

I would like to have been a fly on the wall in evaluating player acquisitions this year and how future plans evolve from it?

There's no such thing as "only being able to build a regular season team". Despite the obvious counter example San Jose Sharks, if you build a team capable of contending for the Presidents Trophy year after year there's no reason they're not legitimate Stanley Cup contenders. In his time here he may have had a few bad deals but name one GM that hasn't. It's part of the job, get used to it. Glad to have you on in the future Mike!

Forget AV, he's not leaving save us getting the rights to Carey Price for the right to sign him; getting getting the 2knd pick for Schneider (Grig's) & Hedman out of Tampa for Lou...

Good Luck AV haters! :P

Good. Now onto next item on the agenda: AV.

Good to hear. No real surprises but there is always potential for the wrong heads to roll in a Canadian market.

He must be happy that he already has an extension before figuring out what to do with Lu and Scheids haha!

Best GM we've ever had (Quinn close 2nd). He's bold with his movies and has given us Canucks fans the best years in our teams history. One of the more active GM's in the NHL always looking for ways to improve the team. Way to go Mike!

He's an awesome GM. This is a no-brainer. A little bit of luck on his side, but everyone needs that. Can you imagine if Sundin had signed for 2 years @10 mill? That would have caused some re-signing problems for this team.

Go Gillis!

AV sure as hell doesn't deserve an extension.
