And do you know what's 'funnier'? St. Loo got swept by LA with the top goalie in the regular season, Brian Elliott in net. He and Halak won the Jennings this season. Halak went down with an injury in round one and Elliott had to carry the ball with no safety net in round two. He buckled under the pressure and failed miserably with uncharacteristic 'soft' goals. Funny what pressure will do to a hot young backup who is normally 'composed', eh?

see brayden holtby..this kid really screwed up for the caps..he's been standing on his head for the first two rou nds ...to choke under pressure. oh well an extra hundo for beer ...

2 goals on 17 shots, in an elimination game. back to back second round exits. and the whole radalov thing. I wonder what CDCs reaction would be if nashville was our team right now...

NAIL ON HEAD.....just imagine....we sign webber and change our team dynamic to emulate Nashville.....How freakin painful would it be to watch that kind of hockey....STOP THE WEBBER THREADS.....

Not saying we will actually sign Weber, but he's not just some stay at home defenseman. He's one of the top scoring defensemen in the league, he can get it done at both ends of the ice.

I'd consider Mike Fisher our untrade-able player because of what he brings to the games. And I'm not talking about on the ice...

We should have traded for Fisher when we had the chance.

Underwood in a Canucks jersey...

The green men did it...

But in reality... AWESOME!

Holtby could choke yet. Too early to say. My point was that it COULD happen to a young backup after he becomes the starter... even if he was the top goalie in the regular season in save %. The game is a lot different under pressure, knowing the team fails if you fail.

Phoenix happened to him. And it will happen to Mike Smith the second he leaves.

The Coyotes system is certainly much more defensively stable then Philadelphia and Tampa's but the issues with Bryz are legit. It isn't like he is making the routine saves and struggling with the onslaught of scoring chances, he has been giving up some mind boggling bad goals this year. There have been many different theories the top two include Bryz doesn't handle the pressure of a big market well and the other being a rumor that Flyers goalie coach Jeff Reese was in hot water after he told Bryz to add some weight and Bryz has been playing 10 pounds heavier making him slower and his mechanics shift a bit off.

Ether way it goes deeper then the system for sure.

Story of his season...

I agree 100% on Bryz not being all there this season. I'm just saying it's a good chance that Smith is benefactor of a team-executed defensive system, like Bryz has proven to be thus far. Keep in mind, Smith had his best seasons prior to this year under, yes you guessed it, Dave Tippet in Dallas. So if I'm wrong, we can speculate that Smith is under good guidance that has made him what he was supposed to be in the Richards deal back in 2008.

Fire Trotz!
Trade the Kostitsyn sisters!
Weber is such a bully! Let's trade for him for Kesler!

This is the Vigneault I want as coach

It's funny that nobody is bringing up the fact that Fleury and arguably Rinne let their respective teams down, but Luongo is getting the flak for this years elimination when he didn't even play.

The flack Luongo is getting is not because of this year's playoff's.
