I didn't know that being an all-round consistent douche was part of childhood.

Lots of people lost their childhood and can't get it back (i.e. teenage rape victims) - should they party as irresponsibly as Kane?

Completely irrelevant and incomparable.

Those of you saying "he's young, I did it", etc. aren't considering one thing - Patrick Kane has been thrust into the spotlight and, whether it's "fair" or not, is representative of a professional sports team. Along with the big bucks comes the responsibility of being role models to all the kids starting out in hockey who dream of one day making the NHL. So it is inappropriate to continue along the path that he's taken and to repeatedly put his team in that negative spotlight. For the average "kid" (he's not 16 - he'll be 24 soon), sure. But he's not the average kid, like you were growing up and he should probably keep a lower profile, or, pay the price that comes along with that. Which is people discussing it and his team responding to that:

Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said Tuesday that he was aware of Kane's off-season antics -- he apparently went on a bender in Madison, Wisc., during Cinco de Mayo celebrations -- and has talked to him about it.
"Obviously, we are aware of that situation," Bowman said. "We followed it closely. It was one of those things where we've discussed it with Patrick. We've handled that internally.
"We're obviously disappointed with how it played it out, and Patrick is aware of that fact. But at this point, it's a private matter. I think, out of respect for Patrick, we're not going to comment further. We're going to look forward and try to focus on things in improving our team leading into the summer."
Kane's drunken spree in Madison led to a number of embarrassing photos appearing online. One of them showed Kane apparently passed out at a bar

Bowman to Kane:

Do whatever the hell you want, just make sure it doesnt end up on the internet.

He should learn from Paul Bisonette aka BizNasty. This guy knows how to party with the boys (O'Brien, Pyatt..etc) but they don't get black out wasted. They casually drink, bring in all the ladies and enjoy life (and then tweet pictures of all the hotties). That is the life most people will want to strive for, yes, the life of a 4th liner. When you look at Kane and his pictures, can't help but feel sorry that he's so pathetic. However, he was cool and nice when I met him in Vancouver.

Oh I how I envy but not miss Kane's ghostface wasted binging/partying. He's 23, star, pro hockey player, rich and it's the off-season. You do the math: typical guy + rich + young + reckless = partying animal nightmare! Almost every typical young man goes through this in their 20s. It's just part of growing up. Only exception that he forgot he represents the Hawks organization.

Man when I was from 18-23, I can't remember how much times I drank til I was stupidly drunk or blacked out. Yes, it was fun at the time, crazy, stupid, I done stupid things (not to the point of allegedly choking a girl..), I was 'that guy' that friends had to watch over. But luckily I matured out of it once you realize that it's not the healthiest of lifestyles (the womanizing, blackouts, drunk calls/txts, hangovers, health, etc.). Every guy will eventually mature.....even Kaner. I'm guessing it may take longer considering the recognition he gets and the amount of women that throw themselves at them. Or the organization steps in and gives him a harsh reality check.

It's not that much of a stretch.

When alcohol affects you that much, you shouldn't be partying regardless of the circumstances.

So we are officially in a bit of a silly season, and in general I stay away from the completely crazy rumors that persist on the internet, or in the case of the Leafs having interest in Nabokov or Turco I will occasionally debunk them...however, I have been getting inundated with emails, PMs, and questions on twitter regarding a few rumors that are out there...so here goes.. I will address the rumors and follow with what I have or haven't heard...If you all like this format, maybe Wacky Wednesdays could be a regular feature. I wouldn't do it more than once a week, because I am too busy talking to actual sources and attempting to provide you all with as much unique information as possible.

Too busy talking to actual sources? lolwut

the main lesson of this story is seriously:

kaner do whatever you want, just don't have it leak out so people with no-life can bash you.
