Erik Karlsson
I hope he doesn't play in the top 6, he has no hands, and an average shot.... not something we need more of on the 2nd line....
Ṣpiderman
He's too good for the third line, but not good enough for the 2nd line.
c00kies
Hansen's point production disappeared when Hodgson left. He is very inconsistent, but him being a two-way winger might allow Kesler (and the temporary center) to play more offensively, so even if he isn't scoring, Kesler and Booth will be. I would prefer we find a better fit from free agency (bigger, bonafide threat), but he would be an improvement over Raymond.
Wheels22
If we can get one of our prospects or sign someone to fill the 3rd line checking role he plays so nicely, then yes. He definitely deserves top 6 minutes, but he fits his role now so well, so it's hard to move him up
TheCammer
Hansen = Hands of stone. Love his work ethic though. Good hustle and knows where to go on the ice. Decent forechecker. Gotta bury those chances sometimes.
Rounoush
Hansen is certainly skilled but his play is better suited to a third-line role and he is not consistent enough.
jigsaw99
I recall when he first debuted in a Canucks uniform back in 2007. While it may have only been ten playoff games and not enough time to assess him properly, he looked as though he had some real offensive potential, especially with his speed. He has been groomed to play a third line role, however, and I don't think he can deviate too much from his grinding style.

Baggins
Jannik Hansen had a career year this past season with 16 goals and 23 assists while playing a checking role on the 3rd line. He's shown flashes of playmaking ability with some pretty sweet passes and is just entering his prime at the age of 26. IMO he's ready to be given a chance at being a top-6 forward for Vancouver. Lychees
No he isn't, he excels at the checking/grinding 3rd line role. If he can show he has decent hands this season to go with his speed, perhaps. But yeah I'd still give him a spot over Raymond
Baggins
yeah i remember he looked really good and had top 6 potiential back than. Back AV wouldn't play him when he looked like that and benched him over players like Jeff Cowan, Brad Isibister, Ryan Shannon, and Bryon "PP specialist" Richie. He has since changed his style to a defensive role to be able to play under AV.
riffraff
Which is better... an average 2nd line player or a good 3rd line player? Hansen is a good 3rd line player. What we need is a good 2nd line player. We already have average 2nd line players.
DeNiro
The third line would suffer big time without him. I don't see why he can't just stay where he is. If he can be a 20+ goal scorer playing on the third line I think everyone will be happy.
DownUndaCanuck
He's had a lot of success with the twins, and plays the same style of game as Booth, Higgins and Kesler, so would fit perfectly in a top-6 role. The problem is there are 6 forwards who are better than him right now, but if any of them drop off, expect to see Hansen bumped up. This guy gets better and better every season. Ugli Fruit
So much bias here. Raymond played the majority of the season on the third line. Higgins played in favor of Raymond. Also, remember the fact that Hansen was not especially effective on the 2nd or 1st line, though he flourished on the 3rd.
jigsaw99
It's not that AV doesn't like offensive players. He simply wants defensive responsibility to go with it. If you don't back check hard and play responsibly in your own end you lose ice time. He's done it with every prospect that's been brought up since he arrived. Raph
To the people knocking on Hansen's so called "hands of stone" you have obviously haven't seen Booth or Raymond shoot a puck at the goalie crest.
sorbbsorbobo
He is a good skater. I think he will be a good match with Kesler and Higgins
