Boudrias
That ranks up there with who gives a sh*t! Sorry but anymore than one Russian on a team is simply trouble.
D-Money
What was he, 5th overall?
Ghostsof1915
This is why, unless you do your homework, and the Russian you draft is committed to playing in North America you're taking a major risk in drafting Russian players. For every Ovechkin there's 5-6 Filatov's.
Phil_314
not sure why he would be missed (bottom-feeders Columbus surely didn't miss him), after only playing nine (early-season) games with the playoff-bound Sens, who have Michalek, Alfie, Foligno, Neil, Greening, Condra, Butler, etc. on the wings
BoKnows53
The guy just fell apart. I remember he was a dominant player at the Wjc one year then spent some time in the NHL. Went back to the Wjc a year older and completely sucked. I blame the Cbj for his development.

Losing With Pride
This is why Columbus is so awful. See Filatov - Going to Russia Zherdev - Russia or somewhere Klesla (still playing but a disappointment for being 4th overall) Leclaire - Washed up Picard - Awful Brule - Rushed and never panned out Brassard - Not bad of a pick Voracek - Traded who became Carter who became Johnson Moore - We will see Johansen - We will see Nash - Still there but wants out Awful drafting
Losing With Pride
Add to the mix they could have Couturier from the Philly trade for Carter

gwarrior
makes you wonder i all teams not named the capitals will continue to draft russians when they keep going back to russia. i know id be a little gun shy about spending a 1st round pick on russians if theres no guarentee they were going to play here. marleau_12
I wanted to see him and try and make something of himself in North America. Guess I'll never see that.
TmanVan
Watch Edmonton give the russians the cold shoulder and draft Ryan Murray 1st overall, then with the second pick Columbus takes Yakupov..... who then turns into an nhl bust and bolts back to Russia
MoneypuckOverlord
IN his defence, (Filatov) I truly believe he wanted to play in the NHL. Columbus screwed up his developement, also doesn't help when HItchcock is going haywire on the young kid. I didn't think this will really happy. I really thought he was going to be an offensive player in the NHL. OH well.
sampy
Most of CDC wanted to trade Bieksa for him straight up 2 summers ago.

TOMapleLaughs
Bottomline is that Filatov's attitude was worse than Coho's.
morrissex95
Rick Dudley will be the next General Manager in Columbus once Howson goes. He was starting to turn Atlanta into a playoff contender. Gary Roberts should also be a candidate for a GM role somewhere because of his talent evaluation and skill in player development.
