Former member of the official Pavel Bure fanclub. Got so excited when I was a kid to receive that newsletter in the mail.

Cannot believe the speed he has. We all talk about how fast guys like Booth, Kesler and Raymond are. Then I watch those two clips and kind of laugh.

On a sidenote, the WHC has been the first time I've had the opportunity to really watch Jeff Skinner play. He is a beautiful skater. Not faster than Pavel, but he is sure fun to watch. If I had a kid I would put him in figure skating. I think its kind of the equivalent, or at least similar, to Johnny Cash's song "Boy Named Sue".

My kid will be a great skater, and he'll be tough because he'll have to deal with kids teasing him for being in figure skating  . Good combination for a hockey player.

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Unreal speed - he'd be considered one of the best, if not the best, skaters by even the current NHL standards.

He is the reason why I started paying attention to hockey...even though the ex, a Canucks fanatic, for the past five years previous to that couldn't get me into watching hockey. All I can recall before then were a lot of russian names skating around but when Bure hit the ice he always managed to break away from the pack...how could you not notice...and then score!

Nail Yakupov may be the next Bure.

I watched a video on him for the first time yesterday and I saw a lot of resemblance in Bure, he is scouted to be number #1 in the draft this year. His favorite player growing up was Bure, his number is 10 like Bure, he skates and dangles like Bure and snipes and throws his body around as well. I've just never seen another player like Bure, but for the first time since I have seen Bure play watching Nail Yakupov it was like watching Bure again when Bure was a rookie.

Loved every goal he ever scored but my fav moment is when he took churla out with "The Mother Of All Elbows".
Did not need Gino then, showed he could take care of himself. This is what the Sedins need to do to show the
league that they will resort to vigilante justice to protect themselves.

And churla was never heard from again...... -_-

Näslund says hi.

Naslund? He's nothing but a perimeter player, a snail in comparison to Bure.
People who label others as bandwagoners, people who tell other people "how" to cheer for their team, "how" they should act or what they should wear to "support" their team, people who only want to hear positive thoughts and don't want to read about how the team can do better - these are people who are insecure and uncomfortable within their own skin.

I'll support my team the way I choose, thank you very much. You can choose to support your team the way you want to, and I won't judge you on it as long as you don't try to force your beliefs on me. I'll also be quick to point out where I think the team can do better, because identifying that there is a problem is the first step to fixing it; denying or ignoring a problem won't solve anything.

Go Canucks Go.

The purest and hungriest goal scorer the Canucks have ever had. Whether the Canucks won or lost, he was worth the price of admission on his own.
"I knew we had a great team. I told everyone if we play as a group, we can win it all. Everyone laughed. Now we're laughing."

Did he ever score an ugly goal?

It seems like every time he scored it was a thing of beauty!

...there will be no other ever like Bure - he was in a class of his own...so exciting...he could deke and finish while going top speed while having control - just ridiculous.

It's a damn shame the Canucks haven't even honored him here in any way..

Imagine if there were shootouts in the NHL during Bure's era.

it eould blow my brains out of my skull from sheer amazement

Yup. I was lucky enough to be at this game, seriously! Bure was by far my favourite player and was responsible for generating my obsession with all things Canucks. I was 11 when he came into the league. So naturally, when he scored this goal at a game I was at, I was floored.

I bet not many people remember that this goal was actually during a pre-season game.

I was wondering why there was so few people in the stands.
