WINNER: PAVEL BURE

Wondering what the fanbase thinks of this one: Linden of 94 or Bure of 94?

Linden:
heart
Motivation
Leadership
Offense
grit
determination
clutch

Bure:
Offensive powerhouse
clutch
determined
razzle dazzle
speed
some heart

For those of you who think Bure would get run over by Boston:::

I'd pick Linden surprisingly, because our issue all along has been motivation and leadership. The guys needed heart and determination more than anything, and I think Linden defined that attitude for the 94 team.

I don't know shiz, Bure had a way of dancing around guys much more profitiently then he gets credit for. I think he's like a fast agressive datsyuk...Look at some of his highlights and he does do a lot of deking and speeding away

For the love of god, shut up about Cody Hodgson. If you feel as though he could have made a difference in last years playoffs, go and become a Buffalo fan.

Some facts (and opinion):

Bure made a bigger difference in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals.

Considering Bure had 8 points in the Stanley Cup Final, including an assist in Game 7, he would have been fairly useful in the Finals. He came up big in Game 5 with a three-point effort, scoring two goals in New York to keep the Canucks from being eliminated. He had at least a point in every game except Game 2. When Messier was about to steal Game 5 from the Canucks, Pavel fired back with two goals to regain the lead for Vancouver.

Much to my surprise as I looked back, Trevor didn't do anything in the series until Game 7. He went pointless in Games 1, 2, 3, and 5. He only had an assist in each of Games 4 and 6. Ultimately, he had 2 points going in to Game 7.

You can check out the box scores here:
http://www.hockey-re...1994_games.html

As we all recall, Bure also helped the Canucks move past the first round that year with the Game 7 overtime goal against Calgary. That year, he scored 60 goals in the regular season, and led the team in playoff scoring with 31 points in 25 playoff games.

Trevor and Pavel were both clutch, but Pavel had more firepower and could overwhelm the opponent with speed and aggressive offense. Against a goaltender like Tim Thomas, Pavel could have made a few moves and skated around him, or at least beaten everyone else to his rebounds.

Bure was widely considered a Conn Smythe finalist for the Canucks in 1994. He would have given everything he had to win the Stanley Cup if he had played in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. While we all appreciate Trevor for his personality, character, and leadership, Pavel would have put that 2011 team over the edge.

Pavel had more heart than fans tend to believe. He cared about this team and wanted to help this team achieve success, but he felt mistreated by the organization and Pat Quinn. We can all blame Quinn for chasing him out of the city.

Bure without a doubt (no disrespect to Linden intended). IMO Bure is the greatest Canuck of all time.

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

Bure would have been manhandled by Boston.

They would have never caught Bure and if they did he would have Shane Churla them

I'd take Bure, but it would be close. Trevor had the heart and leadership and he would be the guy that I would want to win the Cup more. But I think having Bure would have given us a better chance of winning, because our main problem in the Finals was scoring and we could have really used a skilled sniper like Bure.

Bure. Linden was great but Bure is/ was a more impactful player. I don't think anyone on Boston can skate close to his speed. And Bure does't take kindly to a goon picking on him. Lucic/ Marchand would have woke up the next day wondering if it was the All Star break yet.

Bure. He can score and pull a Churla on Marchand. Bure had points in 91% of the games during the '94 run.

Bure: Who else would have scored on Thomas?

Besides, if you look at his highlights, he scored a lot of nice goals against Boston. The stick-to-skate-to-stick goal and his 1st goal where he split the d are two that come to mind.

I wasn't old enough when Bure was playing to remember him so I'd probably go with Linden.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Gino.

People who label others as bandwagoners, people who tell other people "how" to cheer for their team, "how" they should act or what they should wear to "support" their team, people who only want to hear positive thoughts and don't want to read about how the team can do better - these are people who are insecure and uncomfortable within their own skin.

I'll support my team the way I choose, thank you very much. You can choose to support your team the way you want to, and I won't judge you on it as long as you don't try to force your beliefs on me. I'll also be quick to point out where I think the team can do better, because identifying that there is a problem is the first step to fixing it; denying or ignoring a problem won't solve anything.

Go Canucks Go.

The Canucks main problem against the Bruins and the Kings was offense, so i would have to pick Bure.

Hey Bure wasn't your typical Europeon players that was soft. He had skill, speed, and wasn't intimidated by anybody. That hit on Chura in the Dallas series might make you think twice if you think Boston would have been manhandle him.

seeing how we couldn't score worth a s**t, I'd take Bure. But Linden is clutch and has always come up big in Game 7's.

I know its fun to look back..but we gotta move on. just saying.

Tim Thomas, he had the shut out....

But seriously, Linden to calm the room and push our guys even harder. He played injured and still was a beast. One heck of a leader and team player.
