I'm absolutely stoked for training camp next season and to see this guy play in the pre-season. He's 19 and got 6 goals in 8 games with Chicago. On top of that he is pretty big at 6 foot 2. This guy is exactly what the team needs, a skilled, big forward. I think he has a very good chance of cracking the Canucks line-up next season and make an impact in the NHL.

So I was thinking, who is Jensen comparable to? I know he hasn't played a game here, so many might have not seen him yet, but who do you think he can be when he fully develops?

I see him as a Johan Franzen type if he full develops and reaches his potential. If we can get that from him, I'd be extremely happy.

Haven't seen him play huh?

Tell me that isn't shades of Markus Naslund...

He's got a wicked wrister, great lateral mobility, and speed to burn. Size wise he's obviously bigger, but he relies alot on his wrist shot, just like Nazzy.

Can we get the minus back so that we can at least give a thumbs down to these negative posts?

No need to rush our prospects. I will be shocked if he makes the lineup. It will likely be best for his development to return to junior and play top minutes again. I believe he's ineligible for the AHL next season

In that video there's similarities for sure, so maybe not 'Not even close", hah, but I don't think their games overall will be very similar at all. How they score should be different from what I've seen

Jannik Hansen
But a top-6 version instead of a 3rd line version.
Bigger, stronger and a better overall skill-set.

I think he should be a pretty regular 50 point guy who brings some physicality to a 2nd line.

I would say Tuomo Ruutu

A hybrid between Rick Nash and Pavel Bure.

That would be amazing 5 years down the road.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

When he was drafted, TSN compared him to Jussi Jokinen.

The only value I see in Jussi Jokinen is his shootout abilities, other than that he's just another Joke-inen.

So I hope he's not comparable to Jokinen..

Honestly? Rick Nash.

They are both big bodies who use their size advantage to protect the puck and make room for themselves. Neither use their size to lay out devastating hits.

TSN did compare him to Jussi Jokinen and honestly, I think they are similar. Jensen is bigger, but watching him play he doesn't use his size to play physical. He uses it to protect the puck.

He's not a powerforward either. He's more of a dangler/sniper. So Jokinen is comparable. As much as people might hate to hear it, he's almost just like Semin. Same size, abilities (Wicked wrister), skilled, but not overly physical.

Hopefully he has a better work ethic.

I was thinking Semin too. A bit more physicality and more effort would be great for the Canucks future

Lol. Yea I know you are correct. Honestly, I was thinking about mentioning the comparison to Taylor Pyatt in my original post. They are similiar players if you compare Pyatt at the same age, big guy with soft hands.

Hopefully Jensen can thrive in our system and turn out better than Pyatt. If AV is the head coach I worry though. His track record of developing skilled, offensive forwards is pretty abysmal.
