Dr.G
If Luongo comes back, there will be a huge shadow of distraction cast upon the Canucks the whole time. With what happened from game 3 up to now, Luongo cannot return to this organization, without continuous distraction.
Dogbyte
MG and AV are starting to annoy me. They seem afraid to try anything new. It's kind of working and we have jobs so let's not mess with it.
Mr. White
I really don't want them both back. It's Schneiders time and Lu is gone
DownUndaCanuck
Good. We have no idea how Schneider will deal with 60-70 games by himself, and we have no proven backup whatsoever. It's no coincidence that 2 goalies in the last decade have won a Cup after playing 60+ games in the regular season - fatigue is the biggest issue for goaltenders which is why we need 2 good goalies to get us through the season and playoffs. Trading Luongo would spell demise for this franchise if we don't find a goalie capable of 30-40 regular season games, but in that case why bother? Signing Schneider for a very reasonable 3-3.5 million over 2 years means we invest around 8 million in our goaltender. Considering that it is hands-down the most important position in the game, that's a steal compared to paying a defenceman like Weber or someone like Crosby up in the 7-8 million range when they're only on the ice for a third of the game. smithers joe
if a goalie is moved and lack is found lacking, i wouldn't mind seeing the canucks sign gustafsson.....on a team with a good defense, he may really flurish.
sulihpoeht
Maybe this is a cover up for AV's comments about "Luongo wanting out" ...so that is trade value is still up there
nux4lyfe
Realistically, as much as I hate to say this, We all know deep down inside that Lu's played his last season as a Canuck, He loves to play and no way will he stand in the shadow of Corey...both deserve starting roles and keeping them both is just not right. Wayne Glensky
does anyone really want burrows back?
DownUndaCanuck
Good. 8 million invested in the best goalies in the league is worth it. Why spend 8 million on Crosby who plays 20 minutes a game and contributes to 1.5 goals for a game when you have 8 million invested in the goalies who play 60 minutes of every single game of the season, and are responsible for every single goal scored against. Goalies are far more important than any position in hockey - the last 2 playoff MVP's are going to be goalies, so lets get this position right instead of trading one away and gambling on the other.
