Toews
True that. One stop shopping plan: Schenn and Ashton (and a pick and/or someone else?) for Luongo and a package from the Canucks? The Canucks package could include a combination from the following assets: their 1st pick in 2012, a prospect, perhaps Ballard or Booth. This would do something for the top-6 winger issue (although Ashton is still quite young), and Schenn could fit in as a top-4 d-man. The remainder of the eam needs could be filled from the UFA pool, hopefully. regards, G.
Franz Liszt
I could also see this: Luongo, Ballard FOR Lecavalier
Toews
If anyone thinks Gardiner is untouchable then they are seriously overrating Gardiner. He isn't that good, and he won't be that great. He's a solid B rated prospect. To say Gardiner is in the same league as Larrson and Hedman is crazy.
mpt
Solid B rated prospect seriously? http://www.nhl.com/i...iewName=summary And these are just stats which don't represent the whole story. The guy looks like the real deal, only a person who hasnt watched him play can say something that stupid. He was by and far the best rookie defenseman in the league this year, you cannot call him a B rated prospect.
Gollumpus
Booth or Ballard have little to value in a trade, packaging them with Luongo adds little to nothing to the trade and in the case of Ballard actually brings the value of the deal down. There is nothing you can add to the trade that will convince them to deal their pick this year.
Landeskog
In the other thread you posted I should get married with Stamkoks, i think you are

Toews
Exactly, he is an offensive defenseman on a team without an offensive defenseman. There are 2 other defenseman on that rookie list I'd rather have than Gardiner. Gardiner will turn out to be a solid defenseman, but I don't see a franchise dman in him, hence why he isn't an A grade.
Prngr44
Umm what? Phaneuf and Liles are both offensive defenseman.
fourlinesdeep
Yeah, he WAS a vein finalist, just face it, he just sucks now, and will never return to the form he was years ago. Vinny's Contract is actually better, as he's averaged 80 points per season since the lockout, and will still be useful in the last years of his contract. Luongo will be a 5.33 mill backup
Snake Doctor
I think St. Luois has a NTC. But even if he does not, I would not want another soft forward in the later stages of his career thrown to the wolves as Vancouver Fans are.
CHIPS
I still think its gonna be Luongo+1st for Lecavalier. An awesome goalies goes to the team that needs a goalie to make the playoffs. A proven playoff center with huge size goes to the team that needs playoff performance. Win Win.
Edlerberry
LOL Tampa wouldn't take overpaid trash like Luongo for St Louis, the most you'd get for Luongo is Komisarek, No team will give up anything of value for Luongo. Schneider is more likely to be traded, you are stuck with this bum for 10 more years
Ronning4center
He might get you a late first rounder, but a cap dump would also have to be coming back
Ronning4center
Luongo, Hansen, and 1st(26th overall) for Brett Connolly and Tampa's 1st rounder.
Ronning4center
What? Luongo is "overpaid" ?? He's cheaper than or equivalent to other #1's such as Fleury, Bryzgalov, Lundqvist, Ward, Kiprusoff, Backstrom, Miller, Thomas, Brodeur, Rinne, and DiPietro. Not to mention that when Quick/Price are resigned in 2/1 years respectively, they'll make money in this range too. What? Luongo is "trash" ? He took us to 4OT in the Playoffs, and was one save away from setting a playoff save record. He took Canada to Gold in the World Championship and at the Olympics. He is the winningest goalie in franchise history, with every year being over 30 wins(even when he's injured for a long time), and his lowest save percentage of 91.3%. He tied the record for the most wins in a season, only to have Brodeur beat it the same year. He is capable of playing 76 game regular seasons, and following them up with epic playoff runs. He took us to the Stanley Cup Finals. Total trash.
JustJokinen!
I was promised a realistic proposal for Luongo, none were found. This thread failed to deliver.
Vanfansince88
We keep Lu Trade Schneider,Raymond,Booth,Ballard,1st for Nash and 1st round draft.
erkayloomeh
Ill solve this little Luongos value fiasco. If we dont get something decent for him Gillis doesnt trade him and thats it.(even if he has to keep both goalies) In that case they get kept to the deadline and then there values will both go up to someone desperate to make the playoffs and dont have a good goalie going into the playoffs whether lou is worth a little or a lot his value certainly is not going down between now and then
