Italia2006
To me it's a no brainer and I can't believe we didn't get Foligno for Hodgson. That deal would of made more sense for the Canucks and probably would of helped out in the short term and long term.
riffraff
Maybe. Just maybe, foligno wasn't available.

Primal Optimist
Long Live the instant gratification arm chair quarterback! Personally, I think Kassian and Gragnani were good returns for Hodgson and Sulzer, but lets allow some passage of time to see how things go. Madness
If we couldn't get a good deal I wouldn't have done it. If he was causing problems I'd send him down to the Wolves for the remainder of the season and then shop him in the summer to get the best deal. riffraff
So just settle for Kassian? Hodgson is going to be a star in the league and so will Foligno. It blows my mind how we just gave away Hodgson and didn't get the max value for him. Gillis won the fight but lost the war with Hodgson.
PlayingBurke
I prefer Kassian over Foligno because of the potential Kassian has to develop into a key power forward for the Canucks. I am still trying to understand the reasoning behind this claim that Hodgons is going to be a 'star' in the NHL. Says who? He had one good season with one of the best teams in the NHL. How did he do in Buffalo? Three goals and a couple assists? That's on the second line with plenty of ice time. Clearly this is not evidence that Hodgson is going to be a 'star.' BOHATI
I personally think that we won't be able to call a trade winner for a couple more seasons. Sorry, but it is pretty up in the air until their careers actually take shape. Maybe after 200 NHL games played?
mj vic
I'm not a huge Kassian fan but Hodgeson had to go. If Kass was the best bet at the time then MG did right.

DeNiro
When Kassian is putting up 60 points while being a physical force in the next couple few seasons, you'll understand this trade. Until then, just sit back and be patient like the rest of us.
DeNiro
Yeah, and the potential superstar Kassian wasn't even visible on the ice.

bluesman60
Kassian is a Canuck now, how about we give him a chance? He hasn't even been to a Canuck training camp yet plus he is a young player. Don't you think MG knows what he is doing?
Canucksbiggestfan
Are we talking about Nick or Marcus? If Nick then absolutely, if Marcus then no.
ButterBean
Some people just don't understand. Kassian is gonna be a physical force once he continues to develop over the years. People will realize why we did this trade when he's putting up 60+ points consistently and destroying guys. We need legitimate toughness on our team and we sorely lack the killer instinct that he brings.
cs2016
Probably Marcus since he is from Buffalo.
