I would be shocked if av makes any comments like this and its a big scam by him and gillis. You dont say your starter wants out unless its happening. And as far as AV talking about it, that's BS. Do you actually think he'd be dumb enough to talk about that? When does he ever talk about the inner workings of the organization? How can you trust a source that claims that a Corey Perry trade was "all but done"? They just wan ratings, so they're trying to stir up controversy... I think it's actually better to spin it that he wants out and that the Canucks would rather keep him than the opposite. There isn't a lot of strength to Gillis position anyway. Luongo has a long term deal with a no trade clause. Those aren't the easiest to move and really Luongo is going to get to pick his destination. I always subscribe to the theory of being straight forward about things. Trying to hide things and trying to be deceptive never works. If the team is just honest that the tenure of Luongo in a Canucks jersey is coming to an end and it's best for him to move on how is that a bad thing? Spin it that they are doing their best for Roberto and move on. It will be much better in the long run. It really doesn't look good to trade a guy two years into a twelve year deal so the organization is better off looking like they are really out for the best interests of the player.
