Guest BuckFoston
Our team isn't that stacked compared to teams like Pittsburgh and Detroit, and we still got the Presidents trophy, while they got like 4th in their conferences and got kicked a$$ in the 1st round. Your explanation tells me that Mike Babcock and Dan Bylsma are worse than the "loser" Alain Vigneault.

Gurn
" They also don't have superstars on their team, but have a crazy division (unlike Canucks)" Marion Gaborik,Brad Richards,Mark Stall and the ranger goalie say hello.

soshified
The reason that Canucks got the Pres Trophy this year is because NYR crapped out on their last game and Vancouver played Edmonton in theirs. Otherwise, the Rangers have been the better team all year and consistently at the top, especially in the new year. They also don't have superstars on their team, but have a crazy division (unlike Canucks), which they managed to win along with the East. 2010 Canucks ran away with it and were by far the best, no one was even close in points or achievements. This year was total luck and misfortune of other teams who still came in a point or 2 behind. Not the same thing.
ccc44
AV has had lots of talent play for him, defensive specialists, MVP, Top scorer in the league. Second in MVP, 40+ goal scorers, yet only once he has gotten the team out of the second round. The worst of it is that teams that have eliminated the Canucks have gone on to win it. Especially this year's LA. That was a HORRIBLE series. The guy is a LOSER. He has good players, that's why regular season haven't been a problem for this team. With that many talent on 1 team, a donkey behind a bench would have led the team to the same success. Gillis showed fans that all they care about is mediocrity. In the playoffs, that's how the canucks, mediocre. No team in the league fears Canucks. They think it's the canucks, let's just rough up the sedins, and they fold like laundry clothes. I along with most fans have been baffled by AV's extension. Why not put fire under his ass and tell him to deserve his extension, instead of giving out free money. I predict many more first / second round exits in the future. We peaked last year, it was the perfect time and opportunity to make changes, yet the canucks failed again. Good job Gillis and Aquillini's, you clearly show to us fans that you want a winning product. AV's playoff coaching success: 1st year - Loss in second round 2nd year - No playoffs 3rd year - loss in second round (had to come down from 3-1 to win the 1st round then blow it against the 'Hawks 4th year - collapse against the hawks again after dominating first round 4 - 0 5th year - almost collapsed in the first round (1 goal away from making history) then completely get blown out on the road against the Bruins and loss game 7 on home ice 6th year - 1st round loss. 2 wins in the last 10 playoff games. CANUCKLELION
so winning 2 consecutive presidents trophies and making it to the cup finals is losing. the stanley cup is hard to win and gillis and AV have been building this team for sucess. you just sound stupid
hockeyking
Of course he cares about winning because more farther the team goes in the playoffs the more $$ he makes so with your statement it says that the owners don't care about money plz use logic in your statment
NucksBruins
2 wins in last 10 playoff games Can't adjust in game and consistently outcoached Raymond sighting in first or second line. Team plays with no sense or urgency or toughness If i was part of management, i'd be very interested in finding out what i've been smoking, because i just agreed to sign AV for 2 more years. Gage
by making this thread miles.p has showed us how much of a tool he really is. why is everyone classifying him as a typical cdc fan? some cdc fans are not complete tools, miles p is, and so doesnt fit in that catagory. lets all be thankful miles.p will never ever make any decisions regaurding the team, because he is clearly clueless about the entire sport. ahf149
So I guess that Babcock, Trotz, and Mcallen (sp) are all horrible coaches and they dont want to win either...*rolls eyes*. Everyone thinks its SOOO easy to win the cup. There is a reason why its the hardest trophy in professional sports to win. Heck the Boston Red Sox didnt win their World Series for 90 years...I guess they dont care about winning either. *shrugs*
