Bob Mckenzie: Not Many Teams Showing Interest In Luongo

No, I've seen how horrible he is with players, but comparing how a young player who doesn't know he can be a solid NHL'er yet has lost confidence, to watching AV change ballard who was a very solid top 4 D in every other season he played, be reduced to being completely unsure of everything he does, is a whole different level of messing a player up... Ballard had confidence at this level and it was shattered.

The Maple Leafs could look at signing veteran goalie Tomas Vokoun or possibly trading for Roberto Luongo.

“It’s certainly nothing we can discuss publicly,” said Burke, emerging from the league’s general managers’ meeting. “We’re trying to evaluate what we have and what we can get and go from there.”

I think the earliest we will hear a trade announcement will be after the Calder Cup. The Marlies are playing the Norfolk Admirals. I can't imaine Burke pulls anyone from the Marlies in a trade at this crucial time for the club.

from RunningWild in Canuck's talk - Luongo's value thread...

"Interesting news from TSN insiders today: http://watch.tsn.ca/...0358#clip690358

Stating that Thomas 'might' be thinking of taking next year off. That's good news for Canucks as it's another potential goalie off the trade market this summer. They also speculated that the hiring of Bob Hartley in CGY likely means the veterans (Iggy/Kipper) won't be on the market this summer (as per Feaster). Gillis also stated that he is receiving interest from teams re: Lu. Also, Philly might be looking for a veteran goalie to back up Bryz as well - meaning another team looking for a goalie.

Basically, there are potentially fewer goalies on the market this summer and more teams looking for one. Good news if Gillis wants to trade a goalie."

Luongo gets pretty much any team into the playoffs, so any team looking to make the playoffs (*cough*Toronto*cough), should covet him alot.

Gillis needs to get a kings ransom for him, otherwise he should hold off on trading him.

CAN ANYONE actually confirm or remember Samjam reporting the trades before it happened?

We all know the David Booth trade was reported by Gillis right after we defeated Minnesota. NO f in way he could have reported that 10 minutes before it was officially announced. it's like now he is taking credit for saying he "tweeted it"? Also anyone recall the Hodgson trade being tweeted by him before it was officially announced by the NHL? I'm smelling B.S here. Also if a trade is already completed then it must a vast overpayment to get Gillis to agree to a trade before he gives other gm's a chance.
