Chaos Giraffe Posted May 27, 2012 Share Posted May 27, 2012 I'll get right to it: To Vancouver: D Marc Methot (GP:46 G:1 A:6 PTS:7 PIM:24 +/ -11) To Columbus: D Keith Ballard (GP:47 G:1 A:6 PTS:7 PIM: 64 +/- 0 Canucks acquire a big bodied defenseman, that despite recent injury troubles has a consistent defensive game and physical edge. The trade also clears 1.2M in cap-space moving forward giving Vancouver a little more breathing room in terms of other off-season signings and transactions whatever they may be. Columbus gets an underachieving defenseman that has shown in the past he is capable of 30+ points, and he is locked up for the same length as Methot, which is good, as they have had trouble luring any notable players to come/stay with their organization.
