We have all this talk and stuff about Luongo being traded or not. So Here is my tribute to the man that made the Canucks Franchise the best it has ever been in Canucks history.

Thank You Luongo.

Good effort, but this will just serve as bait for yet another needless Luongo debate.

Oh and isn't there a seperate forum for videos? Cheers.

Nice video op. Good Job :)

People just enjoy the video and comment on it not on which goalie is better and who should be traded we have enough threads for that

In 2 years all Vancouver "fans" who drove Luongo out of this city will be regretting it. He is the best thing to ever happen to this team...even more so then 16.. Ya I said it.. Team wise he is the best thing that ever happened

Great video. I've been thinking about this since the trade rumors started during the 1st round against the Kings. Luongo is the reason for this teams recent success. He has taken this team to a new level. And he has taken way too much crap from this fan base. What a great player. If he is indeed traded, we will feel it. Luooooooooooooooooo.

I'm definitely a fan of Lu, but to say he's the "best thing to ever happen to this team...even more so then 16" is giving the guy too much credit. Linden's days as a Canuck trump Luongo's days. I'll admit it would favor Lu had he brought home the cup last year, but without that accomplishment in the uniform Lu doesn't stand a chance to #16 in that regard. Bure, McLean, Smyl, Naslund, and Kurtenbach are in the ranks of #16. Last year Lu had his chance and with any luck, Schneider will have his soon.

Good video - a lot of great memories. All that said, I think it's time for Luongo to move on - Cory is ready for his chance and will be at a more cap. friendly number.

Luongo has been excellent and he has carried an unfair amount of the blame when the team doesn't win. It's just time for things to change.

I swear, if/when he leaves, I may be brought to tears. I have so much respect for him and what he's done for the Canucks. It's so sad that he doesn't get the love and respect that he deserves.

Lu took this team to a whole new level. When he came here we were a good team and with his help we became a great team. That being said, nothing lasts forever and Cory is the next best thing that ever happened to this team.

It's pretty funny, if Luo had stole game 7 for us last year, I'm sure he would be regarded as the greatest Canuck ever. Oh, the thin thin line between legendary status and... this.

I remember how excited I was in the summer of '06 when we aquired him, I couldn't wait for the season to begin. He won us games day in and day out that season, I''d never seen goaltending like that since I started watching the team. Crazy how he gets called out and ridiculed over the smallest things. Part of me hopes he stays for another season but it makes sense to go with Cory from here on out. Hopefully Lu gets a cup by the time he ends his career.

The main reason the Flames had a shot in the 2004 SCF was because of Kipper.
Same applies to the Bruins (Thomas) and the Canucks (Luongo) last year.
Same applies to the Kings (Quick) and The Devils (Brodeur) this year.

...and that is exactly why we should keep our best goalie.

I'm a long-time Luongo fan, but he's no longer the best Vancouver Canuck goalie. And he's only going to decline, while Shneids gets better.

But props to the OP - Lu was the man for our franchise for many years. Hope he is successful wherever he ends up.

I disagree. Luo and Cory are both great goalies. At this point it seems like the return for Schneider in a trade would be that much greater that it makes more sense to trade him.

Best goaltender in franchise history, nothing but respect for one of my all time favorite athletes. If it is indeed the end of the Luongo era, I wish him nothing but the best and hope his dream of winning a Stanley Cup comes true, thankyou Roberto for turning this franchise into a contender and giving us the best seasons in Canucks history.

You rank Naslund with Linden but not Luongo? Surely if leading the team in offensive stats is enough (and frankly, he accomplished little more than that) then what about goaltending stats? Bure, Mclean and Smyl are all legendary for a reason, a reason that does not apply to Naslund. Luongo has more playoff success by a longshot and arguably more season success than Naslund.

In any case the greatest thing to happen to the Canucks in the last decade is Luongo, but overall it's Bure hands down. He was one of the most prolific scorers EVER and not only put the Canucks on the map but also dominated during the 94 run. Linden had few points in the NYR series til game 7. Bure carried the offensive load for sure, and is definitely the greatest player to play for us.

Nice video of the greatest Goalie in our Franchises history-bar None. I've been watching for 40 of the 41 years and no one has raised our team to the "elite" level before. I love the Captain, the King and Suitcase Gary but none of them touch Luuuu.

So if Luongo does get traded and wins the Stanley Cup before the Canucks, CDC would go nuts.
