CaNuCkSLoUiE23
Since Kes will be out for the first 3-4 months of the season, we need a replacement 2nd line centre. Most people are making proposals for big name centre's that can fill the void, but realistically, that's not gonna happen. To MTL: David Booth, Rights to Raymond To VAN: David Desharnais, 2nd Round Pick Montreal needs bigger forwards, and Booth can fill that void. He's a gritty power forward that will fit in their top 6 well. We can also get rid of his cap hit. Desharnais has 1 year remaining on his contract at just under $1 million. Eventhough he is short, he is the smart, playmaker that we need. He put up 60 points this year, which is pretty good. Once Kesler comes back, David can play as the 3rd line center or on Kesler's wing.
87Crosby
rather have booth and a FA signing than no Booth and a short centre
qwijibo
1st, Desharnias Centers Montreal's top line, so Booth isn't really a repacement 2nd. Desharnais has incredible chemistry with Pacioretty and Cole The line didn't even get put together until part way in to the season and they still managed to put up 186 points, Desharnias already proved he can handle top line minutes with his 2 big wingers and put up 60 points in his first full year in the league. Montreal isn't going to break up their proven top line to add Booth (who makes $3.4 million more a year and make not click with Pacioretty and Cole). He could be big a bust as Bourque has been iin Montreal (who incidently has simular numbers to Booth but is bigger) Montreal passes

Grape
Desharnais is a temporary replacement for Kes, while we loose Booth and Raymond forever
Hank33
Why does everyone propose to trade Booth. He comes off of the boards and goes to the net with the puck, if he finds chemistry on one of the top two lines he will be one of our best forwards. Even when he doesn't have chemistry he is still one of our better players.
Jaku
Don't deal Booth. This creates a whole new set of problems.

Master Mind
No more centres. We need wingers! Hell, Raymond would be more valuable to us than Desharnais would be.

Nuckswillwinitall
MTL would laugh at MG hard and hang up the phone DD is their best centre a 60 pt player and has chemistry with Pacioretty and Cole. Booth isn't getting traded unless its in a package something really special say Evander Kane(still unlikely)
zombieksa
Sometimes I think we should just put Kesler with 2 people we find on the street that are 7ft 250lbs that can stand on skates, let him do all the work and they just make sure nothing gets past them. might be ideal. hockeyfan90
why don't we just to this trade: To MTL: D. Booth To VAN: R. Bourque Habs aren't going to trade Desharnais, especially the way their top line played last year.
JC2
I don't get why a lot of people want to trade Booth so fast. I know he didn't have a great first season but I think he is one of the few players that should get cut some slack. He came into a new team with a new coach, line mates, system and expectations and had some unfortunate injuries right after he was starting to heat up. He is expected to build chemistry with Kesler and whoever makes the 2nd line but I bet that's pretty hard with Kesler not even close to himself and the lines being juggled constantly to try to get more production. I thought he was one of the better players in the playoffs and even though he wasn't scoring he was playing physical and generating chances which more than a lot of the other players were doing. Fans need to be more patient and give him a chance.
