Feaster - "you don't hire a coach like Hartley if you are going to trade your veteran players."
I think you should start a thread with a poll asking if Bouwmeester is in the top 3 in NWdivision d-men.
The rest is simply some of the dumbest "planning" I have ever heard. Have you learned nothing in the years of Flames failures?
Throw in the hat for the next few years whlile waiting to start rebuilding until Bouwmeester can be moved as a rental player - Iginla retiring, Kipprusoff retiring (no illusion of winning in the meantime, but keep them anyway...) Cammalleri moved as a rental player (ie less return) - that is pure genius Banned.
Not sure how the first part means "The Coach is the Answer ! We are winning the Cup now" - All it means to me is what it says, that Hartley is capable of coaching Vet players. A big critique of Brent Sutter and his one size fits all system.
Do you want me to dig up the quotes from several respected CDC posters who tell you to sit down on your Jbo bashing… Again everyone in creation knows the guy is overpaid, you talk about him like he is Wade Redden, if you even know who that is.
God forbid the Flames actually try to win games each season and compete for the playoffs, no one is saying they are a Cup contender here, just a team trying to make the playoffs. They only finished 5 points behind the Kings this season. I am not saying they are a top team but your infantile blow it up and burn it to the ground is the hallmark of simple minded hockey fan.
It is appealing logic because it is so simple to understand but many teams have leveraged up from the middle. The Bruins, even the Canucks, you don't know what the off-season holds for the team. What we do know is that once again the Flames want to table as competitive a team as they can.
And they are mocked for that? For actually trying to win instead of falling to the basement and throwing seasons in an Edmonton style tanking for the draft picks method? Did the Canucks tank for years to get top picks?
P.S. - Cammy's return as a "rental" player will be higher than what Calgary gave up to get him in Rene Bourque but I am so tired of trying to explain the logic of that trade to you...
