Clonedanielsedin
Coaching was not the problem in cowtown. Feaster needs to put that team into full rebuild mode, get rid of Cammalleri and Iginla, even Kiprusoff even though his trade value has plummeted over the past couple seasons. The West is way too tough now and the Flames won't have a hope in hell with their current roster, quit stringing the poor Flames fans along, has Feaster no heart? They should follow the Oiler's game plan, tank for a few years, well in the Oilers case it was 8 years but hey.... you get the picture.

Banned01
Their recent comments that their new coach is the answer and they won't be making significant changes sound like an ownership and Feaster pipe dream - the interesting part will be listening to their fans whine and mope because they missed the playoffs again ,but finished ahead of a handful of other teams, giving them lousy lottery odds...for a team that needs young assets, the 14th pick this draft can't be very satisfying. Sounds like they are still a deer in the headlights at this point.

oldnews
Who said the new coach is the answer? Post a link from anywhere on that... Sven looks just fine for next season and he was drafted 13th overall. Flames fans don't expect the Flames to make the playoffs at this point, I think unless there is dramatic change in the off-season, that isn't going to change. So it may be prudent to wait until off-season moves either happen or don't happen before you start calling the Flames season next year, cripes you don't even know what half the roster is yet. Banned01
Feaster - "you don't hire a coach like Hartley if you are going to trade your veteran players." I think you should start a thread with a poll asking if Bouwmeester is in the top 3 in NWdivision d-men. The rest is simply some of the dumbest "planning" I have ever heard. Have you learned nothing in the years of Flames failures? Throw in the hat for the next few years whlile waiting to start rebuilding until Bouwmeester can be moved as a rental player - Iginla retiring, Kipprusoff retiring (no illusion of winning in the meantime, but keep them anyway...) Cammalleri moved as a rental player (ie less return) - that is pure genius Banned.

Baercheese
The reason why Butter was let go was because he wanted a re-tool. He wants younger players in the lineup with energy. The management is obviously still in denial but with a new coach anything can happen. Not sure how I really feel about this, but one thing for sure that Hartley will get the best out of his players. Young players tend to shine under him as well. Hopefully he can kickstart Sven and Backlund. And a lot of others too
