hey guys, needed a little help deciding on this new rig...

1 x Corsair CMZ16GX3M4X1600C9 Vengeance 16GB 4X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-27 240PIN Quad Channel Memory Kit

1 x GeForce GTX 680 2GB 2xDVI DisplayPort HDMI PCI-E 3.0

2 x Bitfenix BFA-ACL-30GK15-RP Alchemy LED Connect Lit 30CM 15 LEDs - Green

1 x Intel 520 Series 120GB 2.5IN SSD MLC 25nm SATA3 Solid State Disk Flash Drive OEM

1 x ASUS DRW-24B1ST 24X SATA DVD Writer OEM Black

1 x LG CH12LS28 12X Blu-Ray Reader & Lightscribe DVD Writer Combo Drive

1 x Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-FI Titanium FATAL1TY PCI-E 1X 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 Optical IN/OUT

1 x D-LINK DWA-552 Xtreme N Desktop Adapter 802.11B/G/N Triple Antenna PCI Adapter

it was a pre built set up through ncix that I added a few different components on

my main goal is obviously some more serious gaming, all though this will be part of our home theatre system so having multiple functionality is essential. I value longevity since the last computer I bought was about $2500 and it has lasted me a good 8 years. As far as price range goes, Im looking around 2500-3k final price.

this is all part of my research, so any advice you have would be great...ie to much, changing components etc..

if I were getting a blue ray player on the computer, would the quality be as good as a player directly connected to my hdtv? Looking at it now it seems expensive and a bit of overkill, but I dont tend to upgrade at all and just purchase big now and ride it for several years...

also, if I am picking up at a ncix store, would it be necessary to get insurance on the order?

Pretty good but your better off putting in the overclocked I5 2500k (which they will OC to 4.0 GHZ) which if you look at toms hardware will go toe for toe with even thousand dollar chips.

And especially if it's for gaming put the extra money into as good a graphics card as you can get. (Not that you have a bad one one there.).

Edit: Looking again your video card is pretty skookum!
