Miller hasn't been doing much since 2010. His team barely made the playoffs and lost in a game 7 were he let in 3 quick goal, literally putting an end to his team. this year he couldn't help his team to a top 8. Epic fail. Canada still has a stronger core of goalies.

November 20th 2013, Canucks just lost their 5th straight game. Last time this happened the Canucks, they missed the playoffs.

If he said he was going to retire, would Boston still be stuck with the $5mill on next year's cap?

Thomas makes it official.

Question now for fantasy owners of Rask is do you keep Rask or Fleury in 1 or Rask or Miller in another. Could get something good for any one of them.

Sounds like he may be calling it quits.

From the earliest age I can remember, I've wanted to be a hockey player. I've been blessed in my life to not only be able to live that dream, but to achieve more than I ever thought possible.

The singleminded focus that is necessary to accomplish a dream of this magnitude entails (by necessity) sacrifice in other areas and relationships in life.

At the age of 38, I believe it is time to put my time and energies into those areas and relationships that I have neglected. That is why at this time I feel the most important thing I can do in my life is to reconnect with the three F's.

Friends, Family, and Faith.

This is what I plan on doing over the course of the next year.

On top of this, I will continue to train using the ARP/POV system www.ultrafitevosport.comand work with G-Form www.g-form.com in the development of protective equipment.

What does this portend for the future?

We'll see….God's will be done.

TT

One option for Bruins with Tim Thomas is if he decides he doesn’t want to play next season for the Bruins, they could maybe give another team permission to try and convince him to play, and then work out a trade after. The Lightning, Maple Leafs, Blackhawks and Blue Jackets are just a few teams looking for a goalie.

To devote your entire life to something you need to sacrifice some important things...

Ive neglected those important things for far too long and its time I made up for it...

By the way, next time you go shopping remember to get a box of Kelloggs Frosted Flakes!

“They’re G-r-r-r-eat!”

Anyways what was I talking about... oh yeah, Ive gotta devote myself to Jesus and God and stuff...

IMO the reason Tim Thomas left was because he didn't want to go to Columbus in the Rick Nash deal.

Why would columbus want such an old goalie? Doesn't make sense to me.

So if he's a team guy, just retire so your team doesn't get burned by the $5 million cap hit.

Sounds to me the guy has issues.

Actually, him not retiring (yet) may be for the benefit of the team. This may give Boston a window to trade the cap hit before he retires. Kind of like when New Jersey traded Malakhov and a 1st to San Jose for spare parts - the key to the deal was taking his cap hit.

If Thomas retired now, that door would close. Boston would not be able to move the 5 mil hit. At least this way, they have an option.

I wonder how different the reaction would be here if it were one of the Sedins or Burrows taking a year off and citing family as the reason.

I know, I'm asking way too much from CDC.

The Sedins and Burrows aren't 38 YEARS OLD.

For someone with the name "C. Jung" you aren't much of a thinker.

This really is a testament to how poor the Final is between LA and NJ. This is the big news in hockey right now.

But who's gonna want him? It's not like he's gonna play anyways. I guess there might be some teams looking to get to the cap floor, but they're still not gonna get much for him.

Personal stuff is important and there's nothing wrong with wanting to spend time with his family, but he really screwed his team over here. Why not just play the last year of his contract, retire, then he can have all the time in the world to do what he wants.

Nobody beats our Canucks' meat !

I don't typically make New Year's Resolutions, but the one thing I want to accomplish in 2012, aka the year of the MILK HOT DOG, is to ARREST SOMEONE. - Kevin WOLVERINE Bieksa (BEE-ecks-ah)

im not a bruins fan in the slightest, but i dont agree with the way thomas is screwing them here. if the drive isnt there anymore, just retire, but dont take your ball and go home. this guy just cant seem to pass up an oppertunity to make an ass out of himself.
