Man Accused Of Biting Kitten's Lips Off Police Say Angel Roman Depressed Over His Girlfriend Leaving Him POSTED: 7:37 am PDT June 1, 2012 UPDATED: 7:45 am PDT June 1, 2012 A central Florida man is accused of strangling a kitten and biting the lips off another because he was depressed about his girlfriend leaving him. Angel Roman, 28, faces animal cruelty charges He was arrested Saturday on a warrant for the crime, which occurred earlier in May, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal. Roman was left to care for the kittens when his housemates were out of town. According to police, he confessed to an acquaintance that "he accidentally choked a kitten" a couple of weeks ago that belonged to roommates and "bit the lips off one of the kittens and burnt its ear and whiskers with a lighter." Roman had also asked to give away two kittens while the housemates were away. It was unclear what happened to those animals, The Associated Press reported. In an interview with sheriff's deputies May 20, Roman said he had "been depressed lately because his girlfriend is gone and that is why he harmed the animals," the News-Journal reported.
