To Philly: Luongo, Ballard

To Van: Van Riemsdyk, Bryzgalov

Why Vancouver likes this trade: They get the big top 6 forward they desperately need without giving up anything we need, even after a tough year for JVR the skill and character he would bring to the Canucks would be huge. This is a big game player, another thing we desperately need. Might have to add Raymond +

Why Philly likes this trade: Philly knows Lu is a fantastic fit for their style and clearly Bryz isn't. They also add a great puck mover in ballard who's also more suited to the wide open Philly style. Philly is also absolutely stacked at forward for the next decade and won't miss JVR at all.

Other keys to why this trade could go down:

-The salaries are almost a wash
-Gillis likes reclamation projects and could no doubt rebuild Bryz's value and trade him for further assets
-Bryz was extremely successful in Phoenix's defenisve system which is a lot like vancouvers
-We need a goalie that can play 20-30 games behind Schneids
-We know we have to take a big contract back to get anyone good, Bryz is better than any i've heard so far.

Bryzgalov is the most overpaid goalie in the league. Don't want him on the Canucks unless they give up a lot more than JVR. Bryz has what? 8 more years left on his contract?

Then who and what would we flip Bryz to and for? What about Bryz, Booth, Connauton, Rodin, 1st, 2nd, 2nd for Nash?

Sedin - Sedin - Nash
JVR - Kesler - Huselius (UFA signing)
Burrows - Pahlsson - Higgins
Kassian - Lapierre - Hansen

Edler - Garrison (UFA signing)
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Tanev - Allen (UFA signing)

Schneider
Lack

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

I don't know who we'd flip Bryz for, but the point is we can. We know we're taking an underperforming player on a big contract back for Lu. Bryz is better than any i've heard mentioned so far. Gillis could absolutely work his magic and flip him for something we need.

Okay then we trade Bryz to Toronto for Lombardi.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - JVR
Higgins - Lombardi - Hansen
Manny - Lappy - Kassian

Give bryz 10 games in a good defensive system in Vancouver and we'll get more than that.

Luongo didn't sh*t the bed for the Canucks in the playoffs. Even my friend who is a die hard Flyers fan thinks Bryz is terrible.

Flyers forwards don't backcheck, their D is a joke. He'd be fine in a good defensive system which Philly has no intentions of playing, none of this matters though because we wouldn't be keeping Bryz. Just shining him up and moving him.

We have to take a bad contract, or did you not get the memo? The other names mentioned in Luongo deals have absolutely no chance of ever being moved, Bryz does.

I'm pretty sure Holmgren won't be dumb enough to get choker v.2.0.

.. How?

Giroux is one of the best defensive forwards in the league, they have some players who are good defensively like Couturier, Schenn, Simmonds, Voracek, Talbot, Wellwood then there are others who are aren't a liability at all like Briere, Hartnell and so on.

And Meszaros, Carle, Coburn, Kubina, Timonen are all pretty good defensmen, and even Grossman is pretty good 3rd pairing guy.

Lets call a spade, a spade. Bryzgalov was very inconsistent throughout the entire year and he ultimately cost them in the playoffs.

No offense, but if this happened..

I think I'd give up. Massive step to nowhere and we just lost our most valuable asset, arguably.

JVR isn't bad, but Bryz, no, that's a move Montreal would make. Like they did for Gomez. Such moves should put the GM on the unemployment line.

If Luo goes any place I'd like to see us get a fast second liner, then trade Kesler and Ballard to SJ for Joe Thorton. We would have an awesome 3 centers and Joe being a second line center would take so much pressure off him and I think we would be a better team as kesler has played hurt last two years in the playoffs and we have suffered.

Luongo fits their style?

Last I checked, Luongo needs the perfect defense to play well.

So you are going to trade Luongo, whose career stats are the only ones that are even remotely close to Brodeur's in terms of active goalies, and you will trade him for a guy with a great personality but one that will never even be close to that kind of greatness? Not to mention that if Luongo is not good enough for these fans, you think Bryz will be any better considering his inconsistencies?

Is there any chance people could stop making absolutely idiotic proposals such as this? I mean if you go down this stupid road, why not just starting making proposals for trades with already retired players. Makes about as much sense.
