Smashian Kassian Posted June 9, 2012 Share Posted June 9, 2012 Trade #1: Luongo is worth more than that and Umberger isn't the right fit for that 2nd line, and Lu wouldnt waive his NTC to go to the Jackets. Trade #2: The SJ Deal isn't bad, I'm not sure if they would do it, Vlasic is a young top 4 defender who plays good in a shutdown role for them and this wouldn't help them, since Defense is one of there needs. Roster: I don't think Foster is a top 4 D-man, atleast not on our team. Tootoo isn't worth 2 Mill Per, and it really doesn't look like we are any better than we were last year, possibly worse. And why do we give up Lou to get this guy ??? Nothing a fit there... Foster, Vlasic, Tootoo, Gaustad > all pretty good players though! I imagine Gaustad will want a multi year deal, as would we if we took the trouble to acquire him. Great 3rd line centre! How about Arnott, a 1 year deal $3 mill instead of Gaustad? Adds the ability to jump into the top lines as either centre / RW?
