[Proposal] Pittsburgh - Struggling Player Swap

Recommended Posts

Basically a player coming off of an off-year, for a 23 year old power forward project

Pittsburgh

Mason Raymond

Vancouver

Eric Tangradi

4th Round Pick

Eric Tangradi - hasn't exactly panned out like Pittsburgh hoped and is essentially a project player at this point. Waiver eligible this season, so he would be brought in as an upgrade to Dale Weise.

A big build at 6'3, 220 and is fairly physical/will drop the gloves when needed.

At age 23 has only played 40 NHL games, and only put up 5 points in that time.

He's been near a PPG in the AHL, but has yet to stick or establish himself in the NHL.

A little blurb from hockeysfuture

Offensively his greatest strength is his net-front presence. He knows how to use his big strong body in front of the net and can create match-up problems for opposing defensemen. He displays the same warrior mentality when battling for loose pucks or playing in high-traffic areas of the ice. His hockey IQ is also very high, which combined with his offensive abilities, allows him to create offensive opportunities for himself and his linemates.

Idk, seems like we trade Raymond for a 4th liner, with a possibility of being better, that seem doubtful.

Raymond has struggled mightly and I am a huge Raymond hater but he's worth a bit more than that, he's not worth a ton but he is still being undervalued in most proposals.
