Hank's Secret Sauce
If we trade Lu to Columbus I think he'd pull a Tim Thomas and bail

Grapefruits
then Schneider becomes our #1 and Lack becomes our #2 goalie. Luongo's cap hit comes off the books and the Canucks suspend him indefinitely. We then use the cap hit to go out and sign a star player. We go with the assumption that Schneider will play 65+ games and go from there. Canucks only need to make the playoffs, not finish first overall. By the looks of it Lack will be a very capable #2 goalie
*VaNcOuVeRCaNuCkS*
It is a little silly to come up with such remote "what if" scenarios though... I could as easily start a thread asking what if the space station dropped on Roger's Arena?

Underachieving Hero of CDC
Canucks get sucked in pretty hard, don't get any return for his loss, watch Schneider struggle playing 70 games getting fatigued and get on their hands and knees for Luongo to come back. Stefan
What if there was an earthquake, and Luongo was in a building and both his legs got crushed in the earthquake. Then Luongo went through rehab, and had to get metal leggings attached, but he already got traded to Toronto. Then Luongo has these wicked metal legs, and they can extend and what if he can make super wicked saves. What if then there's a huge rain storm, and it screws up with the metal legs, and they get rusted, and what if his wife dies, and he gets super sad, and what if he wins 50 million dollars in some sort of lottery, and what if there was a tornado and a bunch of the NHL arenas exploded. Then what if 2012 is actually true, and the season gets halted midway, and Luongo's like "im gonna retire cause I'm christian, and im going to heaven". And what if god's like, no, sorry, you were a bad boy that one time, you can't come here. Then What if Luongo tries real hard to be a good Christian, and he gets super bummed about it, and his NHL performance dwindles. WOAAAAH.

Ray_Cathode
Will Schneider get fatigued as a #1 guy next year and underperform in the playoffs? I doubt it but Its possible. Will Luongo underperform in the playoffs again of his own accord? Its probable. At least Schneider wouldn't be eating up a huge chunk of the salary cap at the same time. Also, if he did fatigue, there would still be a way out for the Canucks in the form of getting a new goalie. With Luongo, there is no way out for the next decade. So who is really the bigger risk? Ellis/Fan
What if he gained 350 pounds and played deep in the net? Instead of a water bottle he had milkshakes on top the net and ate twinkies during comercial breaks. uhuh!
