      Forum-specific Rules   07/11/2017

These are board specific rules for the Trades and Rumors forum designed to provide organization and a better experience for everyone. Please review these rules before posting new threads.
THREAD ETIQUETTE   1. Please search for an existing thread before posting. This forum can be very fast moving, so it's understandable if redundant threads are inadvertently posted. In such a case, please use the report feature to request removal of redundant threads.    2. Provide a clearly identifiable topic title so that users can readily understand the content. The title should include any and all teams involved, as well as player names or other personnel involved as appropriate.   3. All trades, signings, rumors and other news MUST include a linkable source. Simply posting the name of the source is not enough. Effort should also be made to copy and paste the full article, or at the very least the relevant portion of text from the source to the first post of the thread. Moderators may remove low-quality threads in favour of high-quality threads.

Affixed to the front of your title should be a label that identifies the type of transaction that is taking place. For all trades use [TRADE]. For all signings use [SIGNING]. For all waiver-wire transactions use [WAIVERS]. For all rumours use [RUMOUR].
For articles or news items that don't fit into the above categories, affix an appropriate label of your choice such as [NEWS], [ARTICLE] or [MISC].   4. When the status of a thread changes a new thread can be created. The new thread should reflect the change and help focus the discussion on current events. e.g. Someone may create a new thread when a rumor becomes a trades. The old thread will be locked by the moderating team.    5. Do not misrepresent the contents of your thread or post false trades or rumors. Trolling will result in a permanent suspension.

SOURCES   The following source types are considered INVALID. Any links to posts or threads on other message boards Any links to personal blogs Any news heard on the radio that does not have a link to an audio vault or podcast Any news seen on television that does not have a link to online video Any news spread by word of mouth
Additionally, certain sources may be be blacklisted due to poor credentials, clear traffic-mongering etc. Blacklisted sources will be posted here.
Thank you for your co-operation and please PM the Administrator or Moderators if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding this forum.

(Speculation) Rick Nash to Vancouver?

What the frag is with people wanting to ditch Higgins? They guy is fantastic, I can't think of anything negative to say about him. He just goes out there and does his thing.

Nash, Parise, Weber...these guys could all cause locker-room chaos. These guys are big fish and team captains. Suddenly you throw them into the Nucks locker room with its core leadership, egos etc (Hank, Bieksa, Kesler) and who is captain? who is the real leader?

Think Bieksa's leadership role will be in tact if Weber signs? How about Hank with Nash on the team (makes more money and is more of a physically dominating, carry the team on his back type)?

These big acquisitions can cause issues within the team which is partly why they often don't make the huge difference everyone expects. Players are forced to take on different roles and lose influence. It can be tricky.

Not saying this trade is possible for you guys but 7.8 million dollars for a bonafide star is pretty damn good. This guy plays with heart. It is a killer but you would think teams will make space for a player of this calibre.

Come on, we all know Leafs suck. Haha.

Florida - Hmm, okay. Markstrom...

Chicago - Tandem sucks; they need Luongo. Plus, Luongo's too good against Chicago now.

If the Cap indeed does rise next year to 70mil or whatever it is and the new CBA has nothing to say about it, I'd be glad to take his services for 7.8 a year.

As much as I hate to say it, the logical guy to give up in a Nash trade (if we are not giving up Luongo or Schneider) is Booth. Nash does what Booth does but way better. Nash is a consistent power forward while Booth is sometimes a power forward. It is also a working basis to let the salaries make sense. In my opinion a realistic deal would be Booth, Kassian, first, second for Nash. Now I know many are going to say why give up Kassian, especially when you just traded for him but the fact is Booth alone will not get Nash.

Also, even for a second I do not buy speculation that Luongo will be dealt to CBJ because it makes 0 sense. As some of you are aware, I hate Luongo a lot and I criticize him to death but in a deal such as this I think it makes sense to deal Schneider (as a poster already mentioned) and I would do it.

Rick Nash type players are RARELY on the market, that is why so many teams are inquiring.

Luongo isn't gonna wave his NTC to go to the worst team in the league. At least with him in Toronto they'd make the playoffs.

Schneider, Booth, Ballard, and a 1st for Nash.

They get a top 6 forward, a top 4 defenseman (face it, the only reason Ballard played bottom pairing minutes was because our left side defence is stacked), a really good goalie who's more than ready to be a starter, and a 1st round pick round add to their prospect pool.

Daniel ~ Henrik ~ Nash

Burrows ~ Kesler ~ Kassian

--> Burrows and Kesler have unreal chemistry; Kassian will be the big physical presence, is strong on the boards, and can make some good passes down low.

They have a good team, but they had terrible goaltending last season. Plus Carter absolutely crapped the bed and threw off their entire season.

Luongo will get them in the playoffs next year. That's what Luongo brings and Nash doesn't.
